Alex Giltrow
Alex Giltrow (born 5 July 1991) is an English rugby union player who plays for Clifton RFC. Giltrow has represented England students, after impressing for his university side. University of Western England. Whilst playing for Clevedon Rugby Club, Giltrow was apparently spotted by Clifton RFC Director of Rugby in a chip shop. Once the conversation turned to rugby he was invited to Clifton's pre-season training. Joining Clifton in National League 2 South for the 2015-2016 campaign. In the next season he became a first team regular. Appearing 24 times and as a tighthead prop he managed to score an impressive 6 tries. Giltrow was awarded by Clifton Rugby management, the Coach's Player of the season title. On 13 September 2017, he was signed by Bristol ahead of the 2017-18 RFU Championship season, having come through a successful trial. He was released by Bristol in April 2018. Weston-super-Mare
Weston-super-Mare, also known simply as Weston, is a seaside town in North Somerset, England. It lies by the Bristol Channel south-west of Bristol between Worlebury Hill and Bleadon Hill. It includes the suburbs of Mead Vale, Milton, Oldmixon, West Wick, Worlebury, Uphill and Worle. Its population at the 2011 census was 76,143. Since 1983, Weston has been twinned with Hildesheim in Germany. The local area has been occupied since the Iron Age. It was still a small village until the 19th century when it developed as a seaside resort. A railway station and two piers were built. In the second half of the 20th century it was connected to the M5 motorway but the number of people holidaying in the town declined and some local industries closed, although the number of day visitors has risen. RFU Championship
The RFU Championship is an English rugby union competition comprising twelve clubs. It is the second level of men’s English rugby and is played by both professional and semi-professional players. The competition has existed since 1987, when English clubs were first organised into leagues. Organisation and format The Championship is governed by the Rugby Football Union (RFU). The current competition format is a double round-robin tournament, where teams play each other home and away. The 2021-22 season had no playoff phase, and no team was promoted to the Premiership as no team met the minimum standards criteria. Tighthead Prop
In the game of rugby union, there are 15 players on each team, comprising eight forwards (wearing jerseys numbered 1–8) and seven backs (numbered 9–15). In addition, there may be up to eight replacement players "on the bench", numbered 16–23. Players are not restricted to a single position, although they generally specialise in just one or two that suit their skills and body types. Players that play multiple positions are called "utility players". Forwards compete for the ball in scrums and line-outs and are generally bigger and stronger than the backs. National League 2 South
National League 2 South (known before September 2009 as National Division Three South) was a level four league in the English rugby union system until the end of season 2021–22. It was one of two leagues at this level, with its counterpart, National League 2 North, covering the north of England. The format of the league was changed at the beginning of the 2009–10 season following reorganisation by the Rugby Football Union. The champions were promoted to National League 1. The University of the West of England (also known as UWE Bristol) is a public research university, located in and around Bristol, England.
