Alexander Hume Anderson Jr. (September 5, 1920 – October 22, 2010) was an American cartoonist who created the characters of Rocky the Flying Squirrel, Bullwinkle J. Moose, Bullwinkle, and Dudley Do-Right, as well as Crusader Rabbit. He was not directly involved in ''The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show'', however. Biography Alexander Hume Anderson Jr. was born September 5, 1920, in Berkeley, California, to Olga B. (née Terry) and Alexander H. Anderson Sr. He attended the University of California, Berkeley, and the San Francisco Art Institute, California School of Fine Arts in San Francisco. He received an honorary degree from San Francisco Art Institute in 2000. Anderson was a nephew of Mighty Mouse producer Paul Terry (cartoonist), Paul Terry, and began his career in 1938, working summer vacations, during college, at his Terrytoons animation studio. Alexander Ferguson Anderson (15 November 1921 – 18 January 1999) was a Scottish footballer, who played as a full-back. Anderson began his career in the mid-1940s with St Johnstone, spending a year with the Perth side before moving to Forfar Athletic. In 1949, Anderson moved south to Southampton, spending three years as backup to England right-back Bill Ellerington before short spells with Exeter City and Dundee United. Released after playing just a few games with United, It is unknown where Anderson's career headed after his short time at Tannadice, though he did appear at then Southern League club Cheltenham Town Cheltenham Town Football Club is a professional association football club based in the town of Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England. Alexandra Sladky Anderson (born 1955) is an American quilter, television series host, and author. Anderson is the author of various quilting books, fabric lines, and developed an award winning magazine. Anderson is a former host of HGTV's ''Simply Quilts'', which aired for 13 seasons. She has also hosted a web series and a podcast. Anderson has been called the "Queen of Quilting". Personal life and early career When Anderson was a credit away from receiving an art degree from San Francisco State University, she finished a quilt that her grandmother started in the 1920s for her last class. The experience made her enjoy quilting. Her art degree was for fiber and graphic design. She has a son and daughter in law, daughter and son in law, and four grandchildren. She taught quilting at two stores in California. Her first quilting studio was in a guest bedroom.
