Alessio–Bianchi
Alessio–Bianchi was an Italian professional cycling team which existed from 1998 to 2004. It was created in 1998 as Ballan. In 1999 Italian wheels manufacturer Alessio came in as co-sponsor, and in 2000 as main sponsor. The team was dissolved by the end of the 2004 season. History The team began in 1998 as Ballan. Flavio Miozzo, the team director said he selected the riders for the team very carefully filling a roster of only fourteen riders and hoping to race in some of the largest races in the world. 2004 The final year of the team started with a team presentation in Italy with Bianchi coming across from the now defunct to sponsor the team. In early February news surfaced of the team being unable to pay some of their Scandinavian riders. On 13 February 2004 Memory Corp came in as a new sponsor to cover the wages of the riders who missed theirs. Andrea Tafi (cyclist)
Andrea Tafi (born 7 May 1966, in Fucecchio) is an Italian former road bicycle racer who retired from his professional career in 2005. Tafi's propensity to perform best in the harder races earned him the nickname "Il Gladiatore" (English: "The Gladiator"). Tafi specialized in the cobbled Spring Classics such as Paris–Roubaix which he won in 1999, and Tour of Flanders which he won in 2002. He won the Giro di Lombardia in 1996 and the Italian National Championship in 1998. Career The most successful part of Tafi's career was spent with the Italian super-squad . Scott Sunderland (road Cyclist)
Scott G. Sunderland (born 28 November 1966) is an Australian former professional cyclist, who is a now a sports manager and consultant. Sunderland was born in Inverell, a country town in northern New South Wales. He worked double shifts in the Inverell abattoirs to fund his early European racing career. Until he retired at the end of 2004, Sunderland was Australia's longest serving professional cyclist, and placed highly in many of the cycling world's greatest events. As a racer, Sunderland had some injuries and setbacks, the most memorable being when he was struck by a car driven by his former director, Cees Priem, during the 1998 Amstel Gold race. Sunderland recovered and the final few years of his career saw a resurgent Scott Sunderland. Sunderland rode his last Tour de France in 2004. Franco Pellizotti (born 15 January 1978) is an Italian former professional road bicycle racer, who rode professionally between 2001 and 2018 for the Alessio, , and teams. Pellizotti now works as a directeur sportif for the team. Career Pellizotti was born in Latisana, Udine, Friuli-Venezia Giulia. During his career, Pellizotti was known as a climbing specialist and won Stage 10 in the 2006 Giro d'Italia, Stage 16 in the 2008 Giro d'Italia and Stage 17 in the 2009 Giro d'Italia. Andrea Noè (born 15 January 1969) is an Italian former professional road bicycle racer, who competed as a professional between 1993 and 2011, always racing with Italian teams. One of his greatest achievements was winning stage 11 in the 1998 Giro d'Italia. In the 2007 Giro d'Italia, Noè, aged 38 at the time, took the leaders pink jersey on the extremely long stage 10 after outclimbing his breakaway companions of two days earlier. He finished 1:08 ahead of the second placed rider Marzio Bruseghin and 2:58 of his team captain and 2005 UCI ProTour Champion, Danilo Di Luca. Claus Michael Møller (born 3 October 1968) is a Danish former professional cyclist. He competed in the individual road race at the 1992 Summer Olympics. He turned professional in 1995 with the Castellblanch team before moving to Milaneza MSS in 2000. He won the overall classification of the Volta a Portugal in 2002, and was a stage winner in the 2001 Vuelta a España. He also won the Subida al Naranco in 2001, and won stages of the Volta a Portugal and the Trofeo Mallorca. His career was marred in the late 1990s by a suspension for doping; as a result he was also banned for life from representing the Danish national team. Cristian Moreni
Cristian Moreni (born 21 November 1972 in Asola) is an Italian former road racing cyclist who rode for Cofidis, le Crédit par Téléphone in the UCI ProTour. Doping Moreni tested positive for testosterone at the end of the 11th stage of the 2007 Tour de France, on 25 July 2007 (stage 16). He was arrested after stage 16 by French gendarmes. He pleaded guilty, and did not request that a second sample be tested. Subsequently, to his arrest, Cofidis withdrew from the Tour. Moreni was suspended for two years following the scandal. In 2009, when his suspension ended, Moreni became the first cyclist to pay a fine of one year's salary to the UCI. Moreni wanted to return as a professional cyclist.
