Alessandro Antichi
Alessandro Antichi (born 14 May 1958) is an Italian politician and lawyer. Biography Graduated at the University of Siena in 1982, he opened his own law firm in the city of Grosseto in 1985. He joined the centre-right party Forza Italia in 1995 and was elected Mayor of Grosseto on 28 April 1997. Antichi was the first centre-right politician to be elected mayor of the city. He was re-elected for a second term on 14 May 2001. Antichi resigned three years later in order to run for the office of President of Tuscany at the 2005 Tuscan regional election, but he was ultimately defeated by the centre-left candidate Claudio Martini. He served as member of the Regional Council of Tuscany from 2005 to 2015. He ran for the office of President of the Province of Grosseto at the 2009 elections, but lost to Leonardo Marras. 2005 Tuscan Regional Election
The Tuscan regional election of 2005 took place on 3–4 April 2005. Incumbent Claudio Martini (Democrats of the Left) defeated Alessandro Antichi (Forza Italia) by a landslide. Leonardo Marras (born 12 January 1973) is an Italian politician. Biography Born in Grosseto on 12 January 1973, Marras graduated from the "Guglielmo Marconi" scientific high school and immediately began his political career, being elected as a municipal councilor in Roccastrada in 1992 with the Democratic Party of the Left. In 1999, at the age of 26, Marras was elected mayor of Roccastrada with the Democrats of the Left. Marras has been a member of the Democratic Party since 2007. Claudio Martini (born 10 January 1951) is an Italian politician who is the former president of Tuscany. Biography Born in Le Bardo, Tunisia, from two parents from Livorno, Martini began his career in the Prato section of the Italian Communist Youth Federation.
