Alesana
Alesana ( ) is an American post-hardcore band from Raleigh, North Carolina. The group was founded by Shawn Milke, Dennis Lee and Patrick Thompson during the fall of 2004, and is currently signed to Revival Recordings and Artery Recordings. Alesana has collectively released three EPs and five full-length studio albums. The band gained a wide audience after their debut, ''On Frail Wings of Vanity and Wax'' was released, featuring a musical style shifting between light and heavy sounds along with a wide influence ranging from pop, punk, metal and even classic rock bands such as the Beatles. Vocalists Lee and Milke bring together their love of Metal and Pop Punk seamlessly. The Emptiness (album)
''The Emptiness'' is the third studio album by American metalcore band Alesana. It was recorded in the fall of 2009 and was released on January 26, 2010 through Fearless Records. The album is considered a rock opera due to its in-depth story. Vocalists Shawn Milke and Dennis Lee have both stated that the idea of writing an album based upon their own authored story has been present with them since the time of the band's first release, '' Try This with Your Eyes Closed''. Before the release of '' A Place Where the Sun Is Silent'', ''The Emptiness'' was Alesana's best-selling album at the time, claiming the 68th position on the ''Billboard'' chart upon its release. ''Where Myth Fades to Legend'' is the second full-length studio album by Alesana, released through Fearless Records on June 3, 2008. The album was produced by Steve Evetts and recorded in Los Angeles, California. As with their previous album, the majority of the songs are related to fables and the members' "favorite stories" compiled from ''The Brothers Grimm'', except for "As You Wish", which is based on the story '' The Princess Bride'', along with "This Is Usually The Part Where People Scream" which is based on the first season of the television series ''Heroes''. AllMusic gave the album a negative review, saying it contained "cookie-cutter" predictability in the screamo genre, "without the spark of personality or originality that might make them stand out from the crowd of equally unmemorable acts." Alex Torres (musician)
Alexander Ray Torres (born September 15, 1987) is an American musician, best known for being the guitarist of metalcore and post-hardcore bands Eyes Set to Kill, Greeley Estates, Alesana and The Dead Rabbitts. Career Eyes Set to Kill (2006) Torres was one of the first three non-original members to join Eyes Set to Kill, as it was started as a three-piece. He recorded their first EP, '' When Silence Is Broken, The Night Is Torn''. Greeley Estates (2007–2010) Torres joined metalcore band Greeley Estates in April 2007, along with Joshua "Fergz" Ferguson. He recorded both '' Go West Young Man, Let the Evil Go East'' and '' No Rain, No Rainbow''. Kris Crummett is an American record producer and owner of the Interlace Audio in Portland, Oregon. Crummett started recording in 2002. He has worked with many notable indie music record labels, including Rise Records, Epitaph Records, Fearless Records, Sumerian Records, Equal Vision Records, and Sony Japan. He is best known for his work with bands such as Sleeping With Sirens, Issues, Dance Gavin Dance, Drop Dead, Gorgeous and Alesana. Interlace Audio Interlace Audio was founded by Kris in 2002 after years of recording his own bands. The Chariot (band)
The Chariot was an American hardcore punk band from Douglasville, Georgia, that existed from 2003 to 2013. The last lineup consisted of drummer David Kennedy, vocalist and bandleader Josh Scogin, and guitarists Brandon Henderson and Stephen Harrison. The band experienced frequent lineup changes since its inception, with Scogin being the only original member. The band played an abrasive style of metalcore that did not adhere to typical stylings popular among their contemporaries such as melodic/abrasive dynamics and harmonic vocals. They built a reputation around their powerful live performances, with Scogin's lyrics covering topics like materialism, personal struggle, current events, politics, and Christian themes.
