Tane Aleksanteri ”Aleksi” Mäkelä (born 20 November 1969) is a Finnish film director and occasional actor. He is best known for having directed several popular films such as '' Häjyt'' (1999), '' Matti'' (2006) and '' Vares – yksityisetsivä'' (2004). During his career, he has also worked for television. Personal life Aleksi Mäkelä's father was an actor Vesa Mäkelä (1947–2003). The Tough Ones (1999 Film)
''The Tough Ones'' () is a 1999 Finnish film directed by Aleksi Mäkelä (director), Aleksi Mäkelä. It was Finland's official List of submissions to the 72nd Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film, Best Foreign Language Film submission at the 72nd Academy Awards, but did not manage to receive a nomination. Markus Selin, who produced the film, said in the fall of 2023 that a second part is being planned for it, which would also be directed by Aleksi Mäkelä, who directed the first part. In January 2024, more information was given about the film.
