Aleksey Chekunkov
Aleksey Olegovich Chekunkov (; born 3 October 1980) is a Belarusian-born Russian politician serving as the Minister of Development of the Far East and the Arctic since 10 November 2020. He also serves as the general director of the Far East Development Fund since 25 September 2014. Early life and career Aleksey Chekunkov was born in Minsk, Belarus, to his father Aleh Chakunkov, on 3 October 1980. He graduated from the Faculty of International Economic Relations of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (University), of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and earned a master's degree in State and Municipal Administration of the Far Eastern Federal University. Career From 2001 to 2011, Chekunkov worked in executive positions in the private equity sector in Russia. China Investment Corporation (CIC) is a sovereign wealth fund that manages part of China's foreign exchange reserves. China's largest sovereign fund, CIC was established in 2007 with about US$200 billion of assets under management. In March 2025 the fund had US$1.33 trillion in assets under management. The Russian News Agency TASS, or simply TASS, is a Russian state-owned news agency founded in 1904. It is the largest Russian news agency and one of the largest news agencies worldwide.
