Aleksandr Korovin
Aleksandr Korovin (also spelled as "Alexander Korovin"; ; born 15 February 1994) is a Russian and Filipino pair skater. Korovin has represented the Philippines with Isabella Gamez since 2021, having represented Russia prior. Korovin and Gamez are the first pair from Southeast Asia and the Philippines to qualify and compete at the World Figure Skating Championships. They are the first international medalists for the Philippines in pairs skating, first pair to compete at the Grand Prix of Figure Skating for Southeast Asia and the Philippines, and the two-time Philippine National Champions for pairs skating, bringing attention to the sport in the tropical country and the Southeast Asian region. Earlier in his career, Korovin represented Russia with Alisa Efimova. The pair won one Grand Prix medal, silver at the 2018 Skate America, and six medals on the ISU Challenger Series, including gold at the 2018 CS Nebelhorn Trophy and 2018 CS Golden Spin of Zagreb. Figure skating at the 2019 Winter Universiade was held on March 7-9 at the Platinum Arena in Krasnoyarsk, Russia. Medals were awarded in men's singles, ladies' singles, pairs, ice dancing, and synchronized skating. Regulations Skaters who were born between 1 January 1994 and 31 December 2001 are eligible to compete at the Winter Universiade if they are registered as proceeding towards a degree or diploma at a university or similar institute, or obtained their academic degree or diploma in the year preceding the event. In pairs and ice dance, only one partner must be a citizen of the country for which they are competing. The 2017 Russian Figure Skating Championships () were held from 20 to 26 December 2016 in Chelyabinsk, Chelyabinsk Oblast. Alina Vladimirovna Ustimkina (, born 2 September 2000) is a Russian pair skater. With her former partner, Nikita Volodin, she is the 2016 CS Tallinn Trophy champion and 2016 Youth Olympic bronze medalist. Alexander Gennadyevich Zaitsev (, born 16 June 1952) is a Russian retired pair skater who represented the Soviet Union. With partner Irina Rodnina, he is a two-time (1976, 1980) Olympic champion, six-time World champion and seven-time European champion. They were coached by Stanislav Zhuk and later Tatiana Tarasova in Moscow. From 1973 to 1980 they won every event they entered and are, to date, the most decorated pair team of all time. Career In April 1972, Zaitsev was recommended by Stanislav Zhuk to Irina Rodnina as a potential partner. Natalia Yevgenievna Pavlova (, née Dongauzer, Донгаузер) (born 9 April 1956) is a Russian pair skating coach and former competitor for the Soviet Union. Personal life Natalia Yevgenievna Dongauzer (later Pavlova) was born on 8 January 1956 in Leningrad. She is the widow of a basketball player. Their daughter, Anastasia Pavlova, was born on 30 January 1982 and also works as a skating coach. Career Pavlova competed in pair skating with Vasili Blagov. They were both over tall. The pair won the silver medal at the 1973 Prize of Moscow News. After retiring from competition, Pavlova turned to coaching.
