Aleksandr Filimonov
Aleksandr Vladimirovich Filimonov (; born 15 October 1973) is a former association football goalkeeper from Russia. He won the 2011 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup with the Russia national beach soccer team. During his professional career, he was best known for playing for Spartak Moscow and the Russia national football team, as well as for the accidental goal he conceded in Euro 2000 qualifying playoffs from Andriy Shevchenko. Early life and career Born in Yoshkar-Ola, Filimonov spent his early years elsewhere in the USSR. He was interested in football from an early age since his father was a football coach. Yoshkar-Ola (Mari language, Mari and ) is the capital city of Mari El, Russia. Yoshkar-Ola means “red city” in Meadow Mari language, Mari and was formerly known as Tsarevokokshaysk () before 1919, as Krasnokokshaysk () between 1919 and 1927 both after the Malaya Kokshaga River and Charla (), by the Mari people. FC Olimp-Dolgoprudny () was a professional association football club from Dolgoprudny, Russia. It made its debut in the second-highest Russian Football National League in the 2021–22 season and was denied license by the Russian Football Union at the end of that season. The 2011 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup was the sixth edition of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, governed by FIFA. Overall, this was the 16th edition of a world cup in beach soccer since the establishment of the '' Beach Soccer World Championships'' which ran from 1995–2004 but was not governed by FIFA. The FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup is an international beach soccer competition contested by the national teams of the member associations of FIFA, the sport's global governing body. The tournament was preceded by the Beach Soccer World Championships established in 1995 which took place every year for the next decade under the supervision of Beach Soccer Worldwide (BSWW) and its predecessors.
