Alejandro Román
Alejandro López Román (born 1971) is a Spanish composer and pianist. Musician of eclectic style, his works cover both current symphonic composition like jazz or film music. Biography Born in Madrid, he studied composition with Antón García Abril, Valentín Ruiz and Zulema de la Cruz at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid. From 1991 to 1995 he was awarded scholarships by the AIE (Society of Artists and Performers) for studies of Jazz with Tony Heimer, Jorge Villaescusa and Ricard Miralles (piano), Claudio Gabis, Eva Gancedo and Miguel Blanco (harmony, composition and arrangements, music theater), Bob Sands and Victor Merlo (improvisation and ensemble). He belonged to several Jazz and Rock music, Rock groups with whom he recorded a dozen albums. He has composed over seventy works for piano, voice, guitar, orchestra, chamber, electroacoustic, and teaching music, modern (jazz, pop) and film music, theatre and dance. Picnic
A picnic is a meal taken outdoors (Al fresco dining, ''al fresco'') as part of an excursion, especially in scenic surroundings, such as a park, lakeside, or other place affording an interesting view, or else in conjunction with a public event such as preceding an open-air theater performance, and usually in summer or spring. Danza is a musical genre that originated in Ponce, a city in southern Puerto Rico. It is a popular turn-of-the-twentieth-century ballroom dance genre slightly similar to the waltz. Both the danza and its cousin the contradanza are sequence dances, performed to a pattern, usually of squares, to music that was instrumental. Neither the contradanza nor the danza were sung genres; this is a contrast to, for example, the habanera, which was a sung genre. There is some dispute as to whether the danza was in any sense a different dance from the contradanza, or whether it was just a simplification of the name. Through the first part of the 19th century the dance and its music became steadily more creolized.
