Aldo Mongiano
Aldo Mongiano, IMC (1 November 1919 – 15 April 2020) was an Italian-born Brazil-based bishop of the Roman Catholic Church. Mongiano was born in Pontestura, Italy, and was ordained a priest on 3 June 1943, from the religious order of the Consolata Missionaries. Mongiano was appointed bishop of the Diocese of Roraima as well as Titular bishop of Nasai on 14 May 1975, and consecrated on 5 October 1975. He resigned as Titular bishop of Nasai and was appointed bishop of Roraima Roraima ( ) is one of the 26 states of Brazil. Located in the country's North Region, it is the northernmost and most geographically and logistically isolated state in Brazil. A bishop is an ordained member of the clergy who is entrusted with a position of Episcopal polity, authority and oversight in a religious institution. Consolata Missionaries
The Institute of Consolata Missionaries (), commonly called the Consolata Missionaries, is a Catholic religious congregation of Pontifical Right with branches for both men and women. Its members add the nominal I.M.C. after their names to indicate membership in the Institute. The Institute was established in 1901 by the Italian priest Saint Giuseppe Allamano in Turin. He established a branch of the order for women, the Consolata Missionary Sisters, in 1910. Its headquarters is in Viale della Mura Aurelie 11-13, Rome, Italy.
