Aldo Lado
Aldo Lado (born 5 December 1934) is an Italian film director, screenwriter and writer. Lado was born in Fiume, Italy (today Rijeka, Croatia). Lado wrote the screenplays for 21 films between 1968 and 2004 and directed 14 films between 1971 and 1994, and one in 2012. Rijeka
Rijeka ( , , ; also known as Fiume hu, Fiume, it, Fiume ; local Chakavian: ''Reka''; german: Sankt Veit am Flaum; sl, Reka) is the principal seaport and the third-largest city in Croatia (after Zagreb and Split). It is located in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County on Kvarner Bay, an inlet of the Adriatic Sea and in 2021 had a population of 108,622 inhabitants. The film was shot in just eight weeks in 1991 but, due to the bankruptcy of the distribution company, it hit the big screen only two years later and, in 1994, in the United States. Plot Ann and Mary are spending a Friday night with friends at an amusement park when a fight suddenly breaks out. The girls run away and meet two rich young men with a sophisticated woman, who invite them to go with them to a lonely villa by the sea. But their intention is to subject them to a sadistic game: the girls are terrified at the sight of a knife, and they don't know that Ann's boyfriend is desperately looking for them. Plot Tony and Lisa, two policemen of the special team, have long been on the trail of Mancini and his men, involved in drug trafficking. Finally, they defeat a large part of the gang by seizing the heroin during a shooting in a Chinese restaurant, but Mancini manages to escape. Elvi, Tony's wife from whom she is separated, asks to settle in his apartment (promising to find him a new accommodation) and in the meantime takes some photos of an abandoned villa for her real estate agency. When Elvi and Tony meet over the divorce lawsuit, the woman is shot and killed. Plot The young Valerie is a very determined girl: she wants to become an actress and participates in dozens of auditions, almost always without success. To live (she shares a small apartment with her friend Louise) she also agrees to pose naked at the Institute of Fine Arts, where she meets Yuro, an introverted and disturbing Japanese. Valerie, engaged to a musician, slowly lets herself be involved in Yuro's charm, to the point of accepting all conditions. The two end up estranged from the world and live physically and intellectually united, in a relationship bordering on the pathological.
