Aldaia (; ) is a municipality in the ''comarca'' of Horta Oest, province of Valencia, Valencian Community, Spain. Local politics Aldaia is located in l' Horta, an area known as the ''red belt'' () due to its tendency to vote for left wing parties. Until 2011, all elections with the exception of 1995 produced an absolute majority for the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE). The People's Party won a majority at the 2011 local elections. A PSOE-led administration was formed after the 2015 elections, and the PSOE regained its absolute majority in 2019 and held it in 2023. The Socialist Party of the Valencian Country (; , PSPV–PSOE) is a Social democracy, social-democratic political party in the Valencian Community, and is a regional branch of the national Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE). The PSPV was originally a small Valencian nationalism, nationalist and leftist Valencian party, mostly confined to the academic world within the University of Valencia. In 1978, they decided to merge with the much larger national PSOE, to which they integrated. The Valencian Nationalist Bloc ( or ''BNV''; ) was a Valencian nationalist party in the Valencian Country, Spain. It was the largest party in the Coalició Compromís until 2021, when it was replaced in a refoundation process by Més–Compromís.
