Alcoa High School
Alcoa High School is a 9-12 public high school located in Alcoa, Tennessee. It is the only high school in the Alcoa City Schools system. Recently moved into the NEW Alcoa High School. It is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). Academics Alcoa High School currently uses a block schedule for their classes. There are three foreign languages offered at Alcoa High School including German, Russian, and Spanish. Alcoa currently offers various AP courses, such as Statistics, United States History, United States Government, World Geography, and English, as well as several dual enrollment courses in cooperation with Pellissippi State Community College. Maryville High School (Tennessee)
Maryville High School (MHS) is currently a three-year public high school with grades 10–12. It was founded in 1918 in Maryville, Tennessee and is a part of the Maryville City Schools system. In the 2009–2010 year, there were approximately 1,558 students enrolled, and the senior class consisted of 352 students. With 107 faculty members, the staff-to-student ratio was approximately 1:15. The school principal is Heather Hilton. Maryville High School has been designated by the Governor of Tennessee as an A+ school. Five National Merit Finalists graduated from Maryville in 2003. Christ Presbyterian Academy (CPA) is a private, coeducational, college-preparatory school for grades preschool through 12 in Nashville, Tennessee, United States. The school provides education through a Christian worldview. Softball
Softball is a game similar to baseball played with a larger ball on a smaller field. Softball is played competitively at club levels, the college level, and the professional level. The game was first created in 1887 in Chicago by George Hancock. There are two rule sets for softball generally: ''slow pitch softball'' and '' fastpitch''. Steve Dunn (1990s First Baseman)
Steven Robert Dunn (born April 18, 1970) is a former Major League Baseball first baseman. He was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 4th round of the 1988 amateur draft, and played for the Twins in 1994 and 1995. Dunn attended Robinson Secondary School in Fairfax, Virginia from 1984 to 1988 where he earned Washington Post All-Metropolitan Baseball honors in 1987 and 1988. Dunn was a top 10 Baseball America magazine prospect in 1988, but had committed to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill prior to the 1988 amateur draft which resulted in his slide to the 4th round. After attending a Minnesota Twins game in which he took batting and fielding practice with the team prior to the game, Dunn rescinded his commitment to UNC and signed with Twins for a $100,000 signing bonus. Baseball is a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams of nine players each, taking turns batting and fielding.
