Alberto Conde
Alberto Conde (b. 1960) is a Galician Jazz pianist and composer. He started studying classic guitar with Tomás Camacho before he played piano and Jazz. His creative style often combines elements of different genres, such as muñeira, bulería, waltz, jota, etc., being "World Jazz" as result. On his approach to Galician rhythms developed a particular style, the so-called "Muñeira Jazz". Northwest Iberian folk music is a traditional highly distinctive folk style, located along Spain's north-west Atlantic coast, mostly Galicia and Asturias, that has some similarities with the neighbouring area of Cantabria. Jim McNeely
Jim McNeely (born May 18, 1949) is a jazz pianist, composer, arranger and faculty. Biography Jim McNeely was born in Chicago, Illinois. He earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Illinois, and moved to New York City in 1975. In 1978, he joined the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Big Band. He spent six years as a featured soloist with that band and its successor, Mel Lewis and the Jazz Orchestra (now the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra). In 1981, he began a four-year tenure as pianist/composer with the Stan Getz Quartet. From 1990 until 1995, he was the pianist in the Phil Woods Quintet. In 1996, he re-joined the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra as pianist. He is still associated with the Vanguard Orchestra as composer-in-residence. From 1998 to 2002, McNeely was chief conductor of the DR Big Band in Copenhagen, Denmark. , he was chief conductor of the HR ( Hessischer Rundfunk) Big Band in Frankfurt, Germany. Claudio Roditi
Claudio Roditi (May 28, 1946 – January 17, 2020) was a Brazilian jazz trumpeter. In 1966 Claudio was named a trumpet finalist at the International Jazz Competition in Vienna, Austria. While in Vienna, Roditi met Art Farmer, one of his idols, and the friendship inspired the younger trumpeter to follow a career in jazz. Roditi came to America in 1970 to study at the Berklee School of Music in Boston. In 1976 he moved to New York City, where he played with Herbie Mann and Charlie Rouse. In the 1980s he worked with Paquito D'Rivera. He was a member of Dizzy Gillespie's United Nations Orchestra. Roditi received a 52nd Annual Grammy Awards (2009) nomination in the category Best Latin Jazz Album for ''Brazillance X 4''. He was also the featured soloist on ''Atras Da Porta'' from ''Symphonic Bossa Nova'' (Ettore Stratta conducting the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra), for which Jorge Calandrelli received an arranger nomination at the 38th Annual Grammy Awards (1995). Hal Crook (born 28 July 1950 in Providence, Rhode Island) is a jazz trombonist. He has a degree from the Berklee College of Music and is considered to be a leading teacher and author in the field of jazz improvisation. Hal was a professor at Berklee College of Music for 30 years, and has played on over 40 recordings. Some of his notable students include Esperanza Spaulding, Leo Genovese, Antonio Sanchez, Lionel Loueke, and Chris Cheek. Benjamin Alexander Riley Jr. (July 17, 1933 – November 18, 2017) was an American jazz drummer known for his work with Thelonious Monk, as well as Alice Coltrane, Stan Getz, Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis, Ahmad Jamal, and as a member of the group Sphere. During the 1970s and 1980s he was a member of the New York Jazz Quartet. Bill Dobbins (born 1943) is an American photographer who specializes in bodybuilding, physique and fitness photography. In particular, Dobbins is well known for his work in photographing female bodybuilders and has published two books of images on the subject, ''The Women'' and ''Modern Amazons''. Dobbins was associated with Ben Weider and bodybuilding organizations such as the IFBB and NPC. Dobbins is also an author and writer for physique magazines.
