Alberto Cavallone
Alberto Cavallone (28 August 1938 – 12 November 1997) was an Italian film director and screenwriter. He was born in Milan, Italy. Cavallone's films are anti-conventional and often contain a mixture of graphic violence, surrealism and eroticism. Career When Cavallone was 17 years old, he traveled to Algeria, then in the throes of a war of independence, with a 16mm Paillard motion picture camera. The footage he gathered there formed the structure of his first film effort, ''La sporca guerra (The Bloody War)'', intended as a non-aligned political documentary. The film featured an early score by Pino Donaggio. The film, released in 1959, is now lost. His feature debut, ''Lontano dagli occhi (Out of Sight)'', the story of an Italian reporter's coverage of a trial in Frankfurt of former Nazi officers for crimes against humanity, was never completed and remains unseen. ''Spell – Dolce mattatoio'' () is a 1977 Italian film directed by Alberto Cavallone. Release ''Spell'' was distributed in Italy by Stefano Film on 20 May 1977 as ''Spell – Dolce mattatoio'' (). After a short run in Italy, it was released as ''L'uomo, la donna e la bestia'' () to capitalize on the popularity of Walerian Borowczyk's '' La Bête''. Cavallone commented on the re-titling of the film as "very irritating" and that the re-release was "definitely a shitty title." Umberto Lenzi
Umberto Lenzi (6 August 1931 – 19 October 2017) was an Italian film director, screenwriter, and novelist. A fan of film since young age, Lenzi studied at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia and made his first film in 1958 which went unreleased, while his official debut happened in 1961 with '' Queen of the Seas''. Lenzi's films of the 1960s followed popular trends of the era, which led to him directing several spy and erotic thriller films. He followed in suit in the 1970s making ''giallo'' films, crime films and making the first Italian cannibal film with '' Man from the Deep River''. ''Les Chants de Maldoror'' (''The Songs of Maldoror'') is a French poetic novel, or a long prose poem. It was written and published between 1868 and 1869 by the Comte de Lautréamont, the ''nom de plume'' of the Uruguayan-born French writer Isidore Lucien Ducasse.
