Albert Louis Bussau
Sir Albert Louis (Lou) Bussau (9 July 18845 May 1947) was a farmer, a Victorian politician, and the Victorian Agent General in London. Early years Bussau was born in Natimuk to carpenter and farmer Johann Joachim Heinrich Adolph Bussau, and Maria Ernestina, nee Rokesky. He attended Warracknabeal state school until he was 12 years old, after which he left to work for his father. With his mother's encouragement, he continued his education, first at night at a private college, and then by correspondence with the University of Melbourne law faculty, becoming an articled clerk. He was employed by the legal firm, J.S.Wright-Smith, attending to business in the Warracknabeal, Beulah and Hopetoun districts, travelling by bicycle to visit clients. Natimuk
Natimuk is a town in Western Victoria, Australia. It is located about northwest of Melbourne. A further west of Natimuk is one of Australia's best climbing areas, Mount Arapiles. At the 2016 census, Natimuk had a population of 514, up from 449 in 2006. History The local post office opened as "Natimuk Creek" on 1 July 1874 and was renamed "Natimuk" in 1884. A railway line, built in a number of sections, once connected Horsham and Hamilton, running via Cavendish, Balmoral and East Natimuk until their closures in 1986 and 1988. The Natimuk Court of Petty Sessions closed in 1965, with the former courthouse subsequently being used by the local historical society. Harold Cohen (politician)
Brigadier Harold Edward Cohen, (25 November 1881 – 29 October 1946) was an Australian soldier, lawyer and, like his grandfather Edward Cohen, a Victorian State politician. Early life Cohen was the son of Montague and Annie Cohen and born in St Kilda, Melbourne. He married Freda Pirani on 4 December 1907, and they had two sons and two daughters. Cohen was educated at Xavier College where he was the first Jewish boy to attend the school. He was school captain in 1898 & President of the Old Xaverians Association from 1919-1920. He continued his studies at Melbourne University. Prior to being a politician, Cohen was a solicitor, soldier and a company director. Henry Bailey (Australian Politician)
Henry Stephen Bailey (9 September 1876 – 26 July 1962) was an Australian politician. He was a member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly from 1914 to 1932 and from 1935 to 1950, representing the electorates of Port Fairy (1914–27) and Warrnambool (1927–32, 1935–50). Initially an Australian Labor Party member, he served as Minister for Lands and Water Supply in the Prendergast and Hogan governments of 1924, 1927–28 and 1929–32, but was expelled from the party in 1932 during the 1931-32 Labor split and defeated at that year's election. The Solicitor-General of Victoria, known informally as the Solicitor-General, is the state's Second Law Officer and the deputy of the Attorney-General. Keith Dodgshun (31 July 1893 – 12 May 1971) was a politician in Victoria, Australia. He was a member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly for just under 17 years, representing the electorates of Ouyen and Rainbow for the Country Party from 1938 to 1955. Early life Dodgshun was born in the inner Melbourne suburb of Hawthorn to warehouse manager Frederick William Dodgshun and his English wife Rosa May Russell. Harold Glowrey
Harold Glowrey (16 November 1893 – 28 September 1974) was an Australian politician. He was born in Watchem to storekeeper Edward Joseph Glowrey and Margaret Danaher. He attended state school locally and worked for his father before becoming a farmer based around Ouyen. In 1914 he was briefly employed in a Melbourne warehouse, returning to Ouyen the following year. On 21 November 1917 he married Kathleen Frances Moran, with whom he had seven children. From 1917 to 1919 he served as assistant secretary of the Victorian Farmers' Union, and from 1919 to 1925 as secretary of the Metropolitan Co-operative Milk Company. In 1927 he was elected to the Victorian Legislative Assembly for Ouyen, representing the Country Progressive Party. Founded in 1939 by the Government of Australia as the Australian Wheat Board, in 1999 it became a private company, owned by wheat growers. It was acquired by Agrium in 2010.
