Albert L. Phillips
Albert Liscom Phillips (May 12, 1824April 15, 1893) was an American merchant, Republican Party (United States), Republican politician, and Wisconsin pioneer. He served two years each in the Wisconsin Senate (34th Wisconsin Legislature, 1881–35th Wisconsin Legislature, 1882) and Wisconsin State Assembly, State Assembly (22nd Wisconsin Legislature, 1869–23rd Wisconsin Legislature, 1870), representing Racine County, Wisconsin, Racine County. Biography Phillips was born on May 12, 1824, in Adams, Massachusetts. He came west to Wisconsin in 1850, settling first in Dodge County, Wisconsin, Dodge County before moving to Racine, Wisconsin, Racine in 1856, where he resided for the rest of his life. Career Phillips was a member of the Assembly during the 1869 and 1870 sessions before representing the Wisconsin Senate, District 3, 3rd District in the Senate during the 1881 and 1882 sessions. Wisconsin's 3rd Senate District
The 3rd Senate district of Wisconsin is one of 33 districts in the Wisconsin Senate. Located in southeast Wisconsin, the district is entirely contained within central Milwaukee County. It comprises much of the south side of the city of Milwaukee, as well as the village of West Milwaukee and eastern parts of the cities of West Allis and Greenfield. The district contains landmarks such as American Family Field (home of the Milwaukee Brewers), Walker's Point Historic District, the Mitchell Park Domes, and the historic Forest Home Cemetery. The district also contains the largest concentration of Hispanic residents in Wisconsin, at 45% of the district population. Current elected officials Tim Carpenter is the senator representing the 3rd district. He was first elected in the 2002 general election, and is now serving his sixth term.
