Albert Dupontel
Albert Dupontel (; born 11 January 1964) is a French actor, film director and screenwriter. Following his father's path, he studied medicine but eventually switched to theater, disillusioned by hospital life. He started his career as a stand-up comedian. In February 1998, his film ''Bernie (1996 film), Bernie'' took the Grand Prize at the 9th Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival which was attended by Dupontel. Saint-Germain-en-Laye () is a Communes of France, commune in the Yvelines Departments of France, department in the Île-de-France in north-central France. Plot The film is set in 1959 during the Algerian War. Lieutenant Terrien (Benoît Magimel), an inexperienced and naïve junior French Army officer, has volunteered for active service, rather than a safe staff post in Algiers. In the film, a homeless man witnesses the suicide of a police officer. He proceeds to wear the dead man's uniform and starts impersonating him. The impostor is tasked with investigating a child abduction case and with locating the missing child. Plot A glue-sniffing homeless person stumbles upon a policeman taking his own life and decides to put his abandoned uniform to good use. Initially this means using it to steal food from the police canteen but soon Roland discovers that wearing the uniform gives him certain powers and responsibilities, particularly tracking down the kidnapped child of a former porn star with whose picture he had fallen in love.
