The Albanian Basketball Cup, is the top annual national basketball cup competition in Albania. It was created in 1951 by the Albanian Basketball Association and the sides with the most titles are Tirana, who have won the competition on 20 occasions. 2019 Albanian Basketball Cup
The Albanian Basketball Cup 2019 is the 63rd edition of the Albanian Basketball Cup, the top annual basketball cup competition played by Albanian teams and organized under the authority of the Albanian Basketball Association (FSHB). Tirana was the defending champion, while Teuta won the competition after 52 years, 1965 was the last time Teuta won the Albanian Basketball Cup. Competition format The Basketball Cup 2019 is played at the middle of the season, when the league is paused for the cup. The mid-season standing is taken into account to pair the matches. All the Albanian teams from the Superliga and First Division compete for the Cup. Each game is played once in a single knock-out game. Tirana Olympic Park
The Tirana Olympic Park Feti Borova (Parku Olimpik “ Feti Borova”) is a multi-purpose arena in Tirana, Albania. The Government of Albania held a public tender for the construction of a sports hall in order to host games. The complex was inaugurated the 4 June 2017 with a basketball match between ex-players from the National Teams from Albania and Kosovo. The Prime Minister, Edi Rama and the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj participated as well in that game. Construction The Olympic Park was built on the site of the Sports Complex of the Sports Services Agency, which was formerly known as the Dinamo Complex, near the Grand Park of Tirana.
