Alauddin Ahmed Chowdhury
Alauddin Ahmed Chowdhury Nasim (born 7 November 1961) is a Bangladesh Awami League politician and a former Jatiya Sangsad member representing the Feni-1 constituency in 2024. Early life Alauddin Ahmed Chowdhury Nasim was born on 7 November 1961 to Saleh Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury and Hosneara Begum Rani Chowdhury in Parashuram, Feni. He passed secondary from Guthuma Khan Bahadur Abdul Aziz High School in 1977 and higher secondary from Chittagong College in 1979. He graduated (honours) from the Social Science Department of Chittagong University in 1983 and completed a post graduate degree in 1984. He served as the president of the Bangladesh Chhatra League Chittagong University unit from 1984 to 1986. Later he joined the administration cadre of the Bangladesh Civil Service. Shirin Akhter
Shirin Akhter (born 12 April 1954) is the general secretary of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal and a former Jatiya Sangsad member representing the Feni-1 constituency from January 2014 to January 2024. Career Akhter is the general secretary of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal, the faction led by Hasanul Haq Inu. Inu is a former information minister of Bangladesh. Inu appointed her the general secretary of the party on 12 March 2016. The party then split in two over opposition to her appointment by some party members. The rebel faction was led by Sharif Nurul Ambia and Moinuddin Khan Badal. After a hearing Bangladesh Election Commission recognized the faction led by Inu and Shirin as the mainstream fraction of the party. She was elected unopposed to the Jatiya Sangsad in 2014. The Jatiya Sangsad (), often simply referred to as Sangsad and also known as is the unicameral Legislature, legislative body of Bangladesh. The current parliament of Bangladesh contains 350 seats, including 50 seats reserved exclusively for women. Bangladesh Chhatra League, simply Chhatra League (), is the student wing of the political party, Bangladesh Awami League, founded by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on 4 January 1948. The organisation is banned and listed as a terrorist organisation in Bangladesh. BCL has been repeatedly accused of committing mass violence including torture, extortion, forced prostitution, killings to instill fear. At least 33 people were killed and 1,500 were seriously injured from attacks by BSL between 2009 and 2014.
