Alastair Duncan (actor, Born 1926)
Alastair Duncan, (1926 - 3 August 2005) also credited as Alistair Duncan, was an English-born actor, playwright, producer and director. He was best known for his work as an actor in radio, but also in theatre and television in series and TV movies, both in his native England, Australia and the United States. Biography Duncan was accepted in to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art at the age of 16, before joining the British army, which saw him posted to various international locations,whilst with the army he served with the entertainment unit He worked for the BBC reportory company after being demobilised. He had a long career in performance, particularly in Australia. He appeared in numerous theatre roles starting in 1951. He played Puck in Shakespeare's ''A Midsummer Night's Dream'' to largely but not exclusively school student audiences at the Theatre Royal in Adelaide in 1951/1952. Alastair Duncan is a Scottish actor and real estate broker. He is best known for his roles as a voice actor in video games, most notably as Senator Armstrong in '' Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance'', Mimir in ''God of War'' (2018) and its sequel, as well as Celebrimbor from '' Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor'' and its sequel. Early life Duncan was born in Edinburgh, Scotland. His father is named Archibald Alexander Macbeth Duncan. Following his family's naming tradition, his name would have been Alastair David Macbeth Duncan, but his father decided to simply give him the legal name Alastair Duncan. Career Duncan's breakout role (then credited as "Neil Duncan") was as Peter Livingstone, side-kick to Mark McManus' Taggart in Scottish television's eponymous detective series. Major General Alastair David Arton Duncan CBE, DSO (22 October 1952 – 24 July 2016) was a British army officer. He is best known for his service as Commanding Officer of The Prince of Wales's Own Regiment of Yorkshire whilst in the Balkans, Chief of Staff of the United Nations Mission in Sierra Leone, and Director-General of Training Support. Early life and education Duncan was born on 22 October 1952 in Toft Monks, Norfolk, England. From 1961 to 1970, he was educated at Gresham's School, a private boarding school in Holt, Norfolk. Military career On 10 March 1973, having attended Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, Duncan was commissioned into The Prince of Wales's Own Regiment of Yorkshire (PWO), British Army, as a second lieutenant with seniority from 8 March 1973.
