Alan Watson (legal Scholar)
W. Alan J. Watson (1933 – 7 November 2018) was a Scottish legal historian, regarded as one of the world's foremost authorities on Roman law, comparative law, legal history, and law and religion. He is credited for coining the term "legal transplants". Watson was educated at St John's Grammar school and at the Hamilton Academy, subsequently attending the Glasgow University, graduating in Arts in 1954 and in Law in 1957. He began his professional academic career at Oxford University, before taking the Douglas Chair in Civil Law at the School of Law of his alma mater, the University of Glasgow. He later served as Distinguished Research Professor and held the Ernest P. Rogers Chair at the University of Georgia School of Law. He was also Visiting Professor at the Edinburgh University School of Law, where he held the Chair in Civil Law from 1968 until 1981. Alan Scott Watson (born 26 November 1950) is a professional magician living and performing in Auckland, New Zealand. He has been performing professionally for more than 30 years and has been presented with some of magic's highest awards and accolades. Biography Born in Wellington in 1950, Watson learned the art of magic from his great-great uncle, Oswald Ashton, at the age of seven. He has appeared at the Magic Castle in Hollywood five times for a total of over 100 performances. He was the founder and administrator of the MagicNZ BBS in 1993. Watson also founded the Magic New Zealand e-zine and has acted as editor from 1999 to present. In 1995 he was awarded the MIMC with Gold Star, the highest degree member of The Magic Circle. Alan John Watson, Baron Watson of Richmond (born 3 February 1941) is a UK-based broadcaster, Liberal Democrat politician and leadership communications consultant. Early life and education Lord Watson of Richmond is the son of the Rev. John William Watson and Edna Mary Peters. He was educated at the Diocesan College, Cape Town in South Africa and Kingswood School in Bath. Alan Andrew Watson, FRS, (born 26 September 1938 in Edinburgh) is physicist and an emeritus professor at the University of Leeds, England. Education Watson was educated at the University of Edinburgh (BSc 1960 first class honours in physics) and was awarded the degree of PhD in 1964 for his thesis on the physics of condensation of water vapour: Examination and possible exploitation of certain unexplored features in the operation of high pressure cloud chambers. His main areas of interest were high-energy cosmic rays, ultra high-energy gamma rays and high-energy astrophysics. Career Watson was professor of physics at the University of Leeds from 1984, having previously been reader in particle cosmic physics there, and retired in 2003 with the title emeritus professor. Alan Cameron Watson
Alan Cameron Watson (16 March 1900 – 15 January 1976) was a New Zealand-Australian Presbyterian minister. Watson was born in Feilding, New Zealand and educated at the University of Otago. He was ordained to the ministry of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand in 1925 and served in Dunedin, East Taieri, and Christchurch. In 1942 he emigrated to Australia and became minister of Toorak, Victoria, Toorak Presbyterian Church in Melbourne. He served as Moderator of the General Assembly, Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Victoria in 1953-54 and Moderator General of the Presbyterian Church of Australia from 1959 to 1962. Watson received an honorary doctorate from Lewis and Clark College in 1954, and was made a Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George in the 1968 New Year Honours. References

The 1970 Pittsburgh Steelers season was the franchise's 38th in the National Football League. They improved from a league-worst 1–13 record the previous year, finishing with a 5–9 record and third place in the newly formed AFC Central. The Steelers began the decade in a new conference and a new stadium with a new quarterback. After nearly 40 years in the NFL they shifted to the AFC, to complete the merger between the NFL and AFL.
