Alan McRitchie
Alan McRitchie is an Australian rugby league footballer who played in the 1960s. He played for St. George Dragons and Cronulla-Sutherland as a prop. He was an inaugural player for Cronulla and played in the club's first ever game. Playing career St. George McRitchie began his first grade career with St George in 1964. McRitchie mainly played reserve grade for the club appearing in 11 first grade appearances over 3 seasons. Alan McRitchie did not play in any of the first grade grand final teams during the club's 11 year premiership reign although he was a member of the premiership winning Reserve Grade team of 1964. Kogarah
Kogarah () is a suburb of Southern Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Kogarah is located 14 kilometres (9 miles) south-west of the Sydney central business district and is considered to be the centre of the St George area. Location Kogarah took its name from Kogarah Bay, a small bay on the northern shore of the Georges River. Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks
The Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks are an Australian professional rugby league club based in Cronulla, in the Sutherland Shire, Southern Sydney, New South Wales. They compete in the National Rugby League ( NRL), Australasia's premier rugby league competition. The Sharks, as they are commonly known, were admitted to the New South Wales Rugby League premiership, predecessor of the Australian Rugby League and the current National Rugby League competition, in January 1967. The club competed in every premiership season since then and, during the Super League war, joined the rebel competition before continuing on in the re-united NRL Premiership. Sydney Sports Ground
The Sydney Sports Ground No. 1 was a Stadium and Dirt track racing venue in Sydney, New South Wales. The ground was located where the car park of the Sydney Football Stadium (SFS) currently sits. The ground had two main grandstands and was surrounded by a grass covered hill, giving it a capacity of more than 35,000. It was demolished along with the smaller No.2 Ground in 1986 to allow the building of the SFS, which opened in 1988. During its lifespan the Sports Ground hosted Rugby league, Rugby Union, Soccer, Motorcycle speedway and Speedway car racing. The Sports Ground was the home ground of NSWRL team, the Eastern Suburbs Roosters, the club playing 500 games at the ground from 1911 until 1986, with a 283-199-18 W-L-D record. Bill McRitchie
William Arthur McRitchie (1917–1990) was an Australian rugby league footballer who played in the 1940s. Career Bill McRitchie was a St. George prop forward who played four seasons with the club between 1942–1945. He was introduced to rugby league by the then Saints captain/coach Neville Smith in 1940. A Brighton-Le-Sands junior, McRitchie and his younger brother Doug McRitchie, both debuted for St George in 1942 although, Doug was a tall winger and Bill was a massive prop. The brothers won the A Grade premiership with Brighton club in 1941 and they were both graded in 1942. They both played together in the 1942 Grand Final. Bill McRitchie's career was cut short in 1945 after his ear lobe was torn off in a scrum during a match against Newtown on 28 July 1945 at Henson Park.
