Alan John Martin (13 March 1928 – 30 August 2004) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Footscray in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the early 1950s. Alan Martin (footballer, Born 1923)
John Alan Martin (23 November 1923 – 2004) was an English footballer who played as a half-back and inside-forward. A pacey and intelligent player, he scored 94 goals in 292 league appearances in eleven years in the Football League. He began his career at Port Vale, turning professional in December 1942. He was sold to Stoke City in exchange for Albert Mullard and £10,000 in September 1951, and played First Division football for the "Potters". He spent 1955 to 1957 at Bangor City, before re-joining Port Vale in July 1957. He helped the "Valiants" to win the Fourth Division title in 1958–59, before moving on to Northwich Victoria. Career Martin joined Port Vale in February 1941 as an amateur, signing professional forms in December 1942. He played 14 Third Division South games in 1946–47. Alan Andrew Martin (born 1 January 1989) is a Scottish footballer who currently plays as a goalkeeper for Gibraltar Football League club St Joseph's. Martin has previously played for Motherwell, Leeds United, Barrow, Accrington Stanley, Ayr United, Crewe Alexandra, Aldershot Town, Clyde, Hamilton Academical, Dumbarton, Queen of the South, East Kilbride and Edinburgh City. Club career Martin began his career with the youth system of Scottish Premier League club Motherwell, making the first team for the 2005–06 season. Alan C. Martin (born 4 August 1966) is a British comics writer best known as author of the comic strip ''Tank Girl''. Hewlett and Martin Martin first met Tank Girl co-creator Jamie Hewlett in 1986 at Worthing Art College. With fellow student Philip Bond they began collaborating on a comic/fanzine called ''Atomtan''. The ''Tank Girl'' series first appeared in the debut issue of '' Deadline'' ( 1988), a UK magazine intended as a forum for new comic talent, or as its publishers Brett Ewins and Tom Astor put it, "a forum for the wild, wacky and hitherto unpublishable," and it continued until the end of the magazine in 1995. He was a major in the Royal Canadian Artillery (Militia) from 1947 to 1965 and was later a chartered accountant by career.
