Alan Jackson (EastEnders)
Alan Jackson is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'', played by Howard Antony. He originally appeared between 16 November 1993 and 16 October 1997, and returned on 12 October 2010 for three episodes. Kind-hearted Alan gives the Jackson family some much needed stability. He loves and cares for Carol Jackson's (Lindsey Coulson) children as if they are his own. Their relationship does not go so smoothly however. Carol's stubborn and nagging nature eventually drives him into the arms of another woman. Howard Antony
Howard Antony (born 19 April 1963) is a British actor, best known for playing the role of Alan Jackson, in the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'' from 1993 to 1997 and briefly again in 2010. He left ''EastEnders'' and went on to become a drama teacher in Tomhood school (London) . Biography Antony made his acting debut in 1987, playing a very minor role in the Stanley Kubrick film ''Full Metal Jacket'', which was being filmed on location in east London. Antony was trained at the Poor School in London's King's Cross. After several years working in the theatre, he secured the role of Alan Jackson in the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders''. Richard Cole (also known as "Tricky Dicky") is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'', played by Ian Reddington between 23 July 1992 and 21 July 1994. Creation and development Producers Leonard Lewis and Helen Greaves took over control of ''EastEnders'' in 1992 and introduced a number of new characters. Mark Fowler
Mark Fowler is a fictional character in the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders''. Mark, an original regular character when the series started in February 1985, became a semi-regular after his original actor David Scarboro was written out of the role in April 1985. Scarboro made brief returns to the role in 1986 and 1987. Scarboro died in April 1988 and subsequently Mark was recast two years later on his return, with former ''Grange Hill'' regular Todd Carty taking on the role. Walford is a fictional borough of East London in the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders''. It is the primary setting for the soap. ''EastEnders'' is filmed at Borehamwood in Hertfordshire, towards the north-west of London. Much of the location work is filmed in nearby Watford, which was chosen for many of the exterior scenes due to its close proximity and the town's name being so similar to Walford. Thus, any stray road signs or advertising boards which are accidentally filmed in the back of shots will appear to read Walford.
