Laila Lalami
Laila Lalami ( ar, ليلى العلمي, born 1968) is a Moroccan-American novelist, essayist, and professor. After earning her ''Licence de lettres'' degree in Morocco, she received a fellowship to study in the United Kingdom (UK), where she earned an MA in linguistics. In 1992 Lalami moved to the United States, where she completed a PhD in linguistics at the University of Southern California. She began publishing her writing in 1996. Her first novel, composed of linked stories, was published in 2005. In 2015 she was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in Fiction for her novel '' The Moor's Account'' (2014), about Estevanico, which received strong critical praise and won several other awards. Saifeddine Alami Bazza (born 19 November 1992) is a Moroccan professional footballer who plays as a midfielder. Professional career Alami was born in Morocco, but moved to Spain at the age of 7. Saad Al-Alami
Saad el-Din el-Alami ( ar, سعد الدين العلمي ; 1911–6 February 1993) was a Sunni Muslim religious leader of the Palestinian people and the fourth Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, in office from 1952 until his death. Qaddur Al-Alami
Sidi Kaddour El Alami () also transliterated as Qaddur al-Alami (born 1742 in Meknes, died 1850) is one of Morocco's best known poets, especially well known for his songs. His full name was Abd al-Qadir ibn Mohammed ibn Ahmad ibn Abi-l-Qasim al-Idrisi al-Alami al-Hamdani and he was known under the name Sayyidi Qaddur al-Alami at-Talibi al-Abd as-Salami. Musa Alami
Musa Alami (3 May 1897 – 8 June 1984) ( ar, موسى العلمي, ) was a prominent Palestinian nationalist and politician. Due to Alami having represented Palestine at various Arab conferences, in the 1940s, he was viewed by many as the leader of the Palestinian Arabs. Biography Early life and political career Alami was born in the Musrara neighborhood of Jerusalem, Palestine, into a prominent family. His father was Mayor of Jerusalem Faidi al-Alami, his sister was married to Jamal al-Hussayni, and he was the uncle of Serene Husseini Shahid. Sidi Abou Abdallah Mohammed ben Mohammed ben Abdelwahed al-Alami al-Moussaoui al-Harraq () was a well-known Moroccan Sufi poet and teacher. Solomon Alami
Solomon Alami was a Portuguese-Jewish ethical writer of the 14th and 15th centuries, contemporary of Simon ben Ẓemaḥ Duran (רשב"ץ). He is known through his ethical treatise ''Iggeret Musar,'' (Why Catastrophes Come) which he addressed, in the form of a letter, to one of his disciples in 1415. Iggeret Musar Alami was an eye-witness of the persecutions of the Jews of Catalonia, Castile, and Aragon in 1391. Alami considers these and other severe trials inflicted upon the Spanish Jews as the effect of, and a punishment for, the moral and religious decadence into which his co-religionists had fallen; and he holds before his brethren a mirror of the moral degeneration extending through all circles of Jewish society. The 1994 London Israeli Embassy bombing was a car bomb attack on 26 July 1994 against the Israeli embassy building in London, England. Twenty civilians were injured. A second bomb was exploded outside Balfour House, Finchley, premises occupied by the UJIA, a registered British charity.
