Alain Portes
Alain Portes (born 31 October 1961) is a French handball player and coach, who competed in the 1992 Summer Olympics. He have formerly coached the Tunisian national team, France women's national team and Algerian national team. Player career Son of a former international handball player, he began handball in the club founded by his father before being spotted and recruited from the juniors by USAM Nîmes Gard. He spent his entire career there, winning four French championship titles and three French cups. He stopped his career in 1994 after a final vice-champion title, the club being demoted to the lower division following a bankruptcy. He had his first experience with the France men's national handball team in 1983 and participated in its long construction under the leadership of Daniel Costantini who led France from the bottom of Group C worldwide in the early 1980s to the top of the world hierarchy. Béziers
Béziers (; oc, Besièrs) is a subprefecture of the Hérault department in the Occitanie region of Southern France. The Egyptian national handball team is the national handball team of Egypt and is controlled by the Egyptian Handball Federation. Egypt is one of the finest handball teams from Africa along with Tunisia and Algeria. Egypt has had two golden generations, one from 1991-2001 and a present one starting from 2019. The first generation was the first non-European team to reach the semifinals in the World Championships. 2014 European Women's Handball Championship
The 2014 European Women's Handball Championship was the eleventh continental tournament for women's national teams, organized by the European Handball Federation. The second jointly hosted edition in the competition's history took place in Hungary and Croatia from 7 to 21 December 2014. Norway won their sixth title after beating Spain 28–25 in the final. Sweden defeated Montenegro 25–23 to capture the bronze medal. Norway's victory ensured their qualification for the 2016 Summer Olympics. However, they later won the 2015 World Women's Handball Championship, vacating the European champion Olympic berth which fell to Spain as the runner-up. Olivier Krumbholz (born 12 September 1958) is a French handball coach of German descent for the French women's national team. He brought the French team to victory at the 2003 World Women's Handball Championship in Croatia, and has later coached the team at the 2004 Summer Olympics and the 2008 Summer Olympics. 2013 World Men's Handball Championship
The 2013 World Men's Handball Championship was the 23rd World Men's Handball Championship, an international handball tournament that took place in Spain from 11 to 27 January 2013. This was the first time Spain hosted the World Men's Handball Championship, becoming the twelfth country to host the competition. Spain won the title, beating Denmark in the final 35–19. It was Denmark's second final in a row. Venues Games in Madrid were scheduled to be played in the Madrid Arena but on 1 November 2012, five young people were killed in a human stampede during a Halloween party. The venue was subsequently closed because of the judicial investigation and the IHF changed the location of games to Caja Mágica. Handball At The 2012 Summer Olympics – Men's Tournament
The men's handball tournament at the 2012 Olympic Games in London was held from 28 July to 12 August at the Olympic Park. The group stage matches were held at the Copper Box and the knockout rounds took place at the larger Basketball Arena. Twelve nations were represented in the tournament. The four best teams from each group advanced to a quarter-final round, while the 5th and 6th teams in each group were classified 9th–12th by the results of their group matches. Unlike in previous Olympics there was no placement matches involving the losing teams of the quarter-finals.
