Al Rayyan Basketball Team () is a Qatari professional basketball team based in Omm Alafai in the city of Al-Rayyan, Qatar. Al Rayyan is one of the most successful basketball clubs in Qatar, with many domestic and international titles to its name. It is part of the Al Rayyan Sports Club. History Beginnings (1979–1998) Al Rayyan Basketball Team participated in the league after the establishment of the Qatar Basketball Federation (QBF) headed by Mr. Nasser Al-Mubarak Al-Ali in 1979. They had to play in outside courts paved with cement as Al-Rayyan Sports Club, or any club for that matter, did not have air-conditioned halls at that time, meaning that the surface area would be very dangerous to play on. Qatari Basketball League
The Qatari Basketball League () is the top-tier men's basketball league operating in Qatar. The winning team obtains the participation right to the FIBA West Asia Super League. The first official season took place in 1981/82. There is a second division and two domestic cup tournaments, the Emir of Qatar Cup and the Qatar Crown Prince Cup. In the 2012–13 season, the league expanded for the first time in its history, going from 8 to 12 teams with the newly entered clubs including Lekhwiya, Al-Shamal Sports Club, Umm Salal SC, and Al-Khor Sports Club. Yasseen Ismail
Yasseen Ismail Musa (born August 12, 1980) is a former professional basketball player. He was also a member of the Qatar national basketball team. Musa competed for the Qatar national basketball team at the 2007 and FIBA Asia Championship 2009. Previously he competed for the junior national team at the 1999 FIBA World Championship for Junior Men and 2001 FIBA World Championship for Young Men. At the 1999 tournament, he averaged a tournament-best 25 points per game, ahead of future NBA players Andrei Kirilenko and Juan Carlos Navarro and was the second leading rebounder with 12.4 rebounds per game. TJ Starks
Tahjon "TJ" Starks (born September 11, 1998) is an American professional basketball player. He played college basketball for Texas A&M and Cal State Northridge. Early life Starks attended Lancaster High School and played under head coach Ferrin Douglas. As a junior, he averaged 12 points, eight rebounds and three assists per game. Starks led the Tigers to its second consecutive Class 5A State Championship and scored 20 points during the championship-game win against Elkins High School. As a senior, he was selected as the 2017 5A Region II District 10 Offensive Player of the Year as well as a Class 5A All-State selection by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches. Suleiman Okhaifoede Braimoh Jr. (born October 19, 1989) is a Nigerian professional basketball player for Karşıyaka Basket of the Basketbol Süper Ligi (BSL).
