Al Jamia Al Islamia Patiya
Al-Jāmiʿah Al-Islāmiyyah Patiya (, ), better known simply as Patiya Madrasa () and formerly known as Al-Madrasah Aḍ-Ḍamīriyyah Qāsim al-ʿUlūm (, ), is a Qawmi Madrasah located in Patiya Upazila of Chittagong District, Bangladesh. It was established in 1938 by Azizul Haq (scholar, born 1903), Azizul Haq under the direction of Zamiruddin Ahmad. It is also known as an International Islamic University. It has a role in the promotion of Islam in Bangladesh, inclusion of Qawmi Madrasas under one syllabus, providing modern and higher education for scholars. History With the patronage of his teacher Zamiruddin Ahmad, Mufti Azizul Haq (scholar, born 1903), Azizul Haq established a madrasa named ''Zamiria Qasimul Uloom'' in 1938. Azizul Haq (scholar, Born 1903)
Azizul Haque (; 1903 — 1961) was an Islamic scholar and social reformer from present-day Bangladesh. He was the founder of Al Jamia Al Islamia Patiya, Al-Jamiah al-Islamiyyah Patiya and served as its first chancellor. Early life and education Azizul Haque was born in 1903, to a Bengali Muslims, Bengali Muslim family of Munshis in Charkanai, Patiya Upazila, Patiya of the Bengal Presidency's Chittagong District. He lost his father, Mawlānā Nur Ahmad, at the age of eleven months. Haq also lost his mother when he turned eleven years old. From then on, he was raised by his paternal grandfather, Munshi Surat Ali. In 1914, his grandfather took him to Al-Jamiah al-Arabiyyah al-Islamiyyah Jiri where he entrusted him under the supervision of its director Shah Ahmad Hasan. The Proclamation of Bangladeshi Independence (), refers to the declaration of independence of Bangladesh on 26 March 1971, at the onset of the Bangladesh Liberation War by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. North Bengal ( , Uttar Banga) is a cross-border cultural–geographic region consisting of the north-western areas of Bangladesh as well as the northern part of the West Bengal state of India. Bandarban District (), officially Bandarban Hill District, is a district in South-Eastern Bangladesh, and a part of the Chittagong Division. It is one of the three hill districts of Bangladesh and a part of the Chittagong Hill Tracts, the others being Rangamati District and Khagrachhari District. Jamiatul Uloom Al-Islamia Lalkhan Bazar (), popularly known as Lalkhan Bazar Madrasa (), is a Qawmi madrasah situated in the Lalkhan Bazar area of port city Chittagong. History The jamia is founded by Mufti Izharul Islam, founding leader of the Harkat-ul Jihad al-Islami Bangladesh. His elder son Mufti Harun Izhar is the assistant director of the jamia.
