Al Hawiyah Stadium
King Fahd Sports City Stadium is a multi-use stadium and sports city located in Al Hawiyah, Saudi Arabia. It hosted some of the 1989 FIFA World Youth Championship and 2005 Islamic Solidarity Games and Arab Club Champions Cup 2023 matches. The capacity of the stadium is 20,000 spectators. The stadium is named after Fahd of Saudi Arabia. Al Hawiyah is a town in Makkah Province, located from Ta'if. It was a small suburb in the past. Currently it has expanded to include more than 15 residential neighborhoods, with an area of and is inhabited with many different classes of Saudi society. GrassMaster
GrassMaster is a hybrid grass sports playing field surface composed of natural grass combined with artificial fibres. The method was developed and patented by Desso Sports from the Netherlands in 1993. This hybrid grass system is now marketed and further developed by Tarkett Sports after a takeover of Desso Sports and has since been re-branded as GrassMaster. 2005 Islamic Solidarity Games
The 1st Islamic Solidarity Games held in the Islamic holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia from 8–20 April 2005 with an Olympic-style tournament aimed at showing Muslim sports prowess and featuring 6,000 athletes. Only men's events were included on the programme. Fifty five nations participated in the said "Islamic Olympic Games", hosted by the Saudi cities of Mecca, Medina, Jeddah and Ta’if. Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud (; 1920, 1921 or 1923 – 1 August 2005) was King and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia from 13 June 1982 until his death in 2005. Prior to his ascension, he was Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia from 1975 to 1982. He was the eighth son of King Abdulaziz, the founder of modern Saudi Arabia. Fahd was the eldest of the Sudairi Seven, the sons of King Abdulaziz by Hassa bint Ahmed Al Sudairi. He served as minister of education from 1953 to 1962 during the reign of King Saud. Afterwards he was minister of interior from 1962 to 1975, at the end of King Saud's reign and throughout King Faisal's reign. He was appointed crown prince when his half-brother Khalid became king following the assassination of King Faisal in 1975.
