Nadhim Zahawi
Nadhim Zahawi ( ar, ناظم الزهاوي, translit=Nāẓim az-Zahāwī; ku, نەدیم زەهاوی, translit=Nedîm Zehawî; born 2 June 1967) is an Iraqi-born British politician serving as Chairman of the Conservative Party and Minister without Portfolio since 25 October 2022. A member of the Conservative Party, he was first elected Member of Parliament (MP) for Stratford-on-Avon in 2010. He had previously served in various ministerial positions under prime ministers Theresa May, Boris Johnson and Liz Truss from 2018 to 2022. Jamil Sidqi al-Zahawi ( ar, جميل صدقي الزهاوي, ; 17 June 1863 – January 1936) was a prominent Iraqi poet and philosopher. He is regarded as one of the greatest contemporary poets of the Arab world and was known for his defence of women's rights. Biography Jamil Sidqi al-Zahawi was born on 18 June 1863 in Baghdad. Khalil Al-Zahawi
Khalil al-Zahawi ( ku, خەلێل زەهاۆی; 1946 – 25 May 2007) was a Kurdish Islamic calligrapher, and one of Iraq’s most prominent calligraphers. Life and career An ethnic Kurd and a native of Diyala Governorate, he began studying calligraphy in 1959, and moved to Baghdad in 1963, where he gave his first exhibition in 1965. He later graduated from the Fine Arts Institute of Baghdad, and proceeded to work for the State Directorate for the Plastic Arts in the 1980s. Eventually, he found work as a lecturer at Baghdad University. He lived in eastern Baghdad's Na'eriyah neighbourhood, a predominantly Shi'a area and part of the New Baghdad administrative district. He had received threats before his death, and had been preparing to leave Baghdad for Irbil.
