Al-Shirqat SC
Al-Shirqat Sports Club () is an Iraqi football team based in Al-Shirqat, Saladin, that plays in Iraqi First Division League. History Early years Al-Shirqat Club was founded on May 5, 1992 and played in the Fourth Division League in 1993 for two seasons. Then the team qualified to the Third Division League in 1995 and played in it until 1999. They were promoted to the Second Division League in 1999 and to the First Division League in 2007 when they won the Second Division League with Al-Dour SC from Saladin Governorate. In Premier League Al-Shirqat team played in the Iraqi Premier League for the first time in the 2009–10 season, and played in the Northern Group, and the team was not good enough, and eventually relegated to the Iraqi First Division League. After one season, the team returned to play again in the Premier League, after winning the Iraqi First Division League championship, but its results in the league were not good. The Iraqi First Division League is a Association football, football league that is the third tier of the Iraqi football league system, which was founded in 1974. The league consists of 20 teams split into two groups in the first stage. The top four teams in each group qualify for the second stage, where they are split into two further groups. The two group winners in the second stage are promoted directly to the Iraqi Premier Division League, while the two bottom teams in the first stage are relegated to the Iraqi Second Division League. The league is governed by the Iraq Football Association (IFA). In the 2023–24 Iraqi First Division League, 2023–24 season, Al-Mosul SC, Al-Mosul won the championship title after defeating Al-Kadhimiya SC, Al-Kadhimiya 6–4 on penalties after a 1–1 draw in the final match. Al-Shirqat
Al-Shirqat is a town west of the Tigris in Saladin Governorate, Iraq, located 294 kilometres (183 mi) northwest of Baghdad. It is the main town of the Al-Shirqat District, and is near the ruins of the ancient Assyrian city of Assur. History In 1918, the Battle of Sharqat between British and Ottoman forces was fought at the town. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant took control of the town during their June 2014 offensive. The Saladin, Salah ad Din, or Salah Al-Din Governorate (, ) is one of Iraq's 19 governorates, north of Baghdad. It has an area of , with an estimated population of 1,042,200 people in 2003. Iraq Division One
The Iraqi Premier Division League () is the second-highest division of the Iraqi football league system after the Iraq Stars League. The league is contested by 20 clubs and is operated by the Iraq Football Association (IFA). Each season, the two top-finishing teams in the Premier Division League are automatically promoted to the Stars League, while the third-placed team enters a promotion play-off. Iraqi Premier League
The Iraq Stars League (), is the highest level of the Iraqi football league system. Contested by 20 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Iraqi Premier Division League. It is governed by the Iraqi Pro League Association. The league was formed by the Iraq Football Association in 1974 as the Iraqi National Clubs League, the first nationwide league of clubs in Iraq, and later became known as the Iraqi Premier League. In 2023, the competition was rebranded as the Iraq Stars League and transitioned into a fully professional competition. The 2011–12 Iraqi Elite League (known as the Asiacell Elite League for sponsorship reasons) was the 38th season of the competition since its establishment in 1974. The season began on 29 October 2011 and ended on 20 August 2012. It was played in a home-and-away round-robin format for the first time since the 2002–03 season. Adel Khodhor Hafedh Al-Musawi (; born 1 July 1954, better known as Adel Khudhair, is an Iraqi football coach and former international player. He played as a defender and midfielder. He was born in Basra. International posts Khudhair appeared at the World Military Cup 1977, and also played in the Moscow Olympics in 1980. He played in 5th Arabian Gulf Cup in 1979 and scored two goals, the first goal against Emirates, and the second against Oman.
