Al-Fallujah Stadium
Al-Fallujah Stadium ( ar, ملعب الفلوجة) is a multi-purpose stadium in Al-Fallujah, Iraq. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Al-Jolan SC. Opened in February 2022, it has a capacity of 7,000 spectators. History Construction started in 2012 and stopped in December 2013 at 93% completion. The stadium turned then into a shelter for Syrian refugee families who fled to Al-Anbar. The stadium suffered various damages such as the scorching of its turf, the breaking of its seats and the deterioration of several of its compartments. After the relocation of the refugees, the government of Al-Anbar announced in 2021 the restoration of the stadium. Iraq Division One
The Iraq Division One is the second-highest division of the Iraqi football league system after the Premier League. The league is contested by 24 clubs. It is operated by the Iraq Football Association (IFA). Each season, the two top-finishing teams in the Division One are automatically promoted to the Premier League. The four lowest-finishing teams in the Division One are relegated to Division Two. The number of clubs in the league have changed throughout history, most recently in the 2021–22 season when the number of clubs decreased from 28 to 24. Fallujah
Fallujah ( ar, ٱلْفَلُّوجَة, al-Fallūjah, Iraqi pronunciation: ) is a city in the Iraqi province of Al Anbar, located roughly west of Baghdad on the Euphrates. Fallujah dates from Babylonian times and was host to important Jewish academies for many centuries. The city grew from a small town in 1947 to having a population of 275,128 inhabitants in 2011. Within Iraq, it is known as the "city of mosques" for the more than 200 mosques found in the city and the surrounding villages. The city became a major center of resistance against the Iraqi government during the Iraqi insurgency and the city was the scene of fierce fighting during the First and Second Battles of Fallujah. Al Anbar Governorate ( ar, محافظة الأنبار; ''muḥāfaẓat al-’Anbār''), or Anbar Province, is the largest governorate in Iraq by area. The 2020–21 Iraq FA Cup was the 31st edition of the Iraqi knockout football cup as a clubs-only competition, the main domestic cup in Iraqi football, featuring 126 teams (20 from the Iraqi Premier League and 106 from the Iraq Division One and Iraq Division Two).
