Al-Falah Mosque (Belize)
The Al-Falah Mosque is a mosque in Belize City, Belize. History The mosque was officially opened on 16 May 2008 in a ceremony attended by Chief Justice of Belize, Chief Justice Abdulai Conteh. It was constructed with a cost around US$500,000. Architecture The mosque is made of bricks. The site of the building covers an area of 1,115 m2 and can accommodate up to 300 worshipers. It also includes meeting rooms, library, kitchen, accommodation, boardroom and classroom. Belize City
Belize City is the largest city in Belize and was once the capital of the former British Honduras. According to the 2010 census, Belize City has a population of 57,169 people in 16,162 households. It is at the mouth of the Haulover Creek, which is a distributary of the Belize River. The Belize River empties into the Caribbean Sea from Belize City on the Philip Goldson Highway on the coast of the Caribbean. Chief Justice Of Belize
The Chief Justice of Belize is the head of the Supreme Court of Belize. Under Chapter 7 of the Constitution of Belize, the Chief Justice is appointed by the Governor-General on the advice of the Prime Minister. Abdulai Conteh
Abdulai Osman Conteh (born 5 August 1945) is a lawyer and politician from Sierra Leone. He is a former vice president of Sierra Leone, who served under President Joseph Saidu Momoh before he was ousted by the military junta in 1992. Conteh later spent a considerable number of years in Belize, where he served as the country's chief justice before returning to Sierra Leone. Early life and education Dr Conteh was born on 5 August 1945 in the village of Rogbere, Gbinleh Dixon Chiefdom in Kambia District, British Sierra Leone. He is from Sierra Leone's Susu ethnic group, which is predominantly based in the north-eastern part of the country - especially Kambia. Conteh was raised mostly in Freetown; he attended Albert Academy and later Fourah Bay College before travelling to the UK for further studies.
