Aktofel Nambahu
Major General Aktofel Nambahu born 1969 is a Namibian military officer who is currently serving as commander of the Namibian army. He was appointed the commander of the Namibian army on 29 December 2022. Career Nambahu's military career began in 1980's when he joined the People's Liberation Army of Namibia (PLAN) in exile participating in the liberation struggle. In July 1990 he was repatriated to Namibia under the UNTAG programme and began his career in the Namibian Army. He Rose through the rank eventually being promoted to Major General. Namibia
Namibia (, ), officially the Republic of Namibia, is a country in Southern Africa. Its western border is the Atlantic Ocean. The United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) was a peacekeeping operation established in September 2003 to monitor a ceasefire agreement in Liberia following the resignation of President Charles Taylor and the conclusion of the Second Liberian Civil War (1999–2003). At its peak it consisted of up to 15,000 U.N. military personnel and 1,115 police officers, along with civilian political advisors and aid workers. The Namibian Army is the ground warfare branch of the Namibian Defence Force. History Development of Namibia's army was fastest of the three arms of Service. The first units of the Army were deployed as early as 1990. The Army was formed when two enemies South West African Territorial Force and the People's Liberation Army of Namibia where inducted after Namibia's independence into the newly created Namibian Defence Force. Major General Matheus Alueendo (born 4 March 1961) is a Namibian military officer who is the current commander of the Namibian Army since 31 July 2019. Career Alueendo's military career began in 1978 when he joined the People's Liberation Army of Namibia (PLAN) in exile participating in the liberation struggle. In July 1990 he was repatriated to Namibia under the UNTAG programme and began his career in the Namibian Army. After being commissioned as a lieutenant he rose through the ranks. In 2003 he attended the Senior Command and Staff Course at the Defence Services Staff College in India, a faculty affiliated to Madras University. He also enrolled for the Master of Military Science degree in Defence and Strategic Studies whilst doing his senior staff course and graduated from both programme that year. South-West Africa
South West Africa ( af, Suidwes-Afrika; german: Südwestafrika; nl, Zuidwest-Afrika) was a territory under South African administration from 1915 to 1990, after which it became modern-day Namibia.
