Aki Maeda
is a Japanese actress and singer. She has an older sister named Ai Maeda. She is perhaps best known in the west for her role as Noriko Nakagawa in the controversial 2000 film '' Battle Royale'', which she reprised for its sequel '' Battle Royale II: Requiem''. is a 2005 Japanese film directed by Nobuhiro Yamashita. It stars Bae Doona, Aki Maeda, Yu Kashii, and Shiori Sekine (of the band Base Ball Bear) as teenagers who form a band to cover songs by the Japanese punk rock band the Blue Hearts; the film's title comes from the hit Blue Hearts song " Linda Linda". An English-subtitled DVD was released on May 8, 2007. is a Japanese television drama series. It first aired from 30 September 2013 to 29 March 2014. Its official English title is ''The Trusted Confidant''. The story, to a large extent, was an adaptation of Yasushi Inoue's 1959 historical novel of the same title (published in English under the title ''The Samurai Banner of Furin Kazan'').
