Akeem Bloomfield
Akeem Bloomfield (born 11 October 1997) is a retired Jamaican track and field athlete who specialized in sprint events specifically the 200 metres and 400 metres. Career Running for Auburn University under coach Henry Rolle, he finished second in the 400 meters at the 2018 NCAA Championships behind Michael Norman of USC. His time of 43.94 ranks #17 on the all-time list, one of only 18 human beings to run the distance under 44 seconds. 15 days later, he signed a professional contract with Puma. Less than a month later, Bloomfield ran 200 meters in 19.81, at the London Anniversary Games. . Bloomfield had never run under 20 seconds before, so his win was so unexpected, race announcers didn't even announce him as the winner until 20 seconds after the race when his name came up on the results display. Michael Johnson (sprinter)
Michael Duane Johnson (born September 13, 1967) is an American sprinter who became Olympic Champion four times, and World Champion eight times in the span of his career. He held the world and Olympic records in the 200 m and 400 m, as well as the world record in the indoor 400 m. He also once held the world's best time in the 300 m. Johnson is generally considered one of the greatest and most consistent sprinters in the history of track and field. Johnson is the only male athlete to win both the 200 meters and 400 meters events at the same Olympics, a feat he accomplished at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. Johnson is also the only man to successfully defend his Olympic title in the 400 m, having done so at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. London Grand Prix
The London Athletics Meet, formerly known as the London Grand Prix and subsequently as the Anniversary Games and London Diamond League, is an annual athletics event held in London, England. Previously one of the five IAAF Super Grand Prix events, it is now part of the Diamond League. As the London Grand Prix, until 2012 all editions were held at the National Sports Centre in Crystal Palace. 200 Meters
The 200 metres, or 200-meter dash, is a sprint running event. On an outdoor 400-metre racetrack, the race begins on the curve and ends on the home straight, so a combination of techniques is needed to successfully run the race. A slightly shorter race, called the '' stadion'' and run on a straight track, was the first recorded event at the ancient Olympic Games. The 200 m places more emphasis on speed endurance than shorter sprint distances as athletes predominantly rely on anaerobic energy system during the 200 m sprint. Similarly to other sprint distances, the 200 m begins from the starting blocks. When the sprinters adopt the 'set' position in the blocks they are able to adopt a more efficient starting posture and isometrically preload their muscles. Michael Norman (sprinter)
Michael Arthur Norman Jr. (Japanese surname: , born December 3, 1997) is an American sprinter. He previously held the world best time in the indoor 400 meters at 44.52 seconds. Outdoors, his 43.45, set at the 2019 Mt. SAC Relays, is tied on sixth on the all time list. In 2016, he became the world junior champion in both the 200 meters and 4 × 100 meter relay. In 2022, he became the world champion in both the 400 meters and 4x400 meter relay. Norman first gained international attention as a high school senior after he defeated reigning USA champion Justin Gatlin in a semi-final heat of the 200 meters at the 2016 Olympic Trials. 400 Meters
The 400 metres, or 400-meter dash, is a sprint event in track and field competitions. It has been featured in the athletics programme at the Summer Olympics since 1896 for men and since 1964 for women. On a standard outdoor running track, it is one lap around the track. Runners start in staggered positions and race in separate lanes for the entire course. Henry Rolle (coach)
Henry Rolle is a Bahamian former athlete and Head Coach at Puma MVP International professional running group based in Boca Raton, Florida. MVP International is a branch off club from the MVP Jamaica Group that has coached Elaine Thompson, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Asafa Powell. He coached St. John's College High School in Nassau, Bahamas before going to the States to serve as an assistant coach at Oral Roberts University. Rolle then went on to serve as the assistant Head coach at Auburn University for twenty years. He is now the Puma SE representative for the Caribbean. Rolle has coached 31 Olympians, 13 World Championship Medalists, Seven Commonwealth Games Medalists, 18 NCAA Champions, and 40 SEC Champions.
