Ajax København is a handball club based in southwestern Copenhagen, Denmark, consisting of both a women's and a men's team. As of the 2022–23 season, the women's team compete in 1st Division, the second highest women's league in Denmark. The men's team went bankrupt in 2022, and were therefore relegated to the 3rd Division, the fourth tier of Danish handball. Ajax København play their home matches in Bavnehøj-Hallen. History Formation and initial success, 1934–1970 The club was founded as Idrætsforeningen Ajax on May 2, 1934. The club has its roots in the prior club ''Poloklubben af 1908''. P08 was, as the name suggests, primarily a water polo team, but also had among other sports, a handball team. Due to the growing popularity of handball, the club board decided close their handball team over fears, that it would overshadow the polo team. Danish Krone
The krone (; plural: ''kroner''; sign: kr.; code: DKK) is the official currency of Denmark, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands, introduced on 1 January 1875. The 2020–21 Damehåndboldligaen (known as ''Bambusa Kvindeligaen'' for sponsorship reasons) was the 85th season of Danish Women's Handball League, Damehåndboldligaen, Denmark's premier handball league. Team Esbjerg were the defending champions, Vendsyssel Håndbold were promoted from the Danish 1st Division (Handball), 1. division. Odense Håndbold won the title, and Vendsyssel Håndbold were relegated, as they finished last in the regular season. This was the first time Odense won the Danish championship. AG København
AG København (former name: AG Håndbold) was a Danish handball club. It was created as fusion of FCK Håndbold and AG Håndbold on June 1, 2010. The fusion was made public in a press meeting on January 7, 2010. On the 31th of July 2012, less than two years after its founding, the club filed for bankruptcy when the main investor and chairperson Jester 'Kasi' Nielsen withdrew from the club. The club won its first title in 2010 where they won the Danish Men's Handball Cup, beating Århus Håndbold in the final. The same year they won the Danish Championship. They would repeat the double in the 2011/2012 season, a month before they declared bankruptcy. Danish Men's Handball Cup
The Danish Men's Handball cup () is the nationwide cup tournament for men's handball teams in Denmark. It’s also known as Santander Cup for sponsorship reasons. The competition has been played annually since 1964. Tournament structure The initial fase of the tournament is split in two. They are managed by the three regional federations, Jydsk Håndbold Forbund (JHF) in Jutland, and Håndboldregion Øst (HRØ) in Sealand together with Fyns Håndbold Forbund (FHF) in fyn. The western half of the initial tournament lasts 7 rounds, while the eastern half lasts 6 round. After the initial fase the DHF taking over the tournament at the round of 16. At the round of 16 and onwards, there are no longer geographical considerations, when drawing the matches. The tournament ultimately results in a final four event scheduled between Christmas and New Year. The 2008–09 Danish Handball League season, officially known as Jack & Jones Ligaen for sponsorship reasons was the 73th edition of the Danish Handball League. FCK Håndbold were the defending champions. KIF Kolding won the title, when they beat FCK Håndbold in the finals. AaB Håndbold won the regular season. TV2 Danmark
TV 2 is a Danish government-owned broadcast and subscription television station, based in Odense, Funen. The station was founded in 1986, and made its first official broadcast in 1988. It makes daily broadcasts of regional and national news, as well as its morning talk show, '' Go'morgen Danmark''. History Since 1949, Danmarks Radio had been the sole provider of television in Denmark. Wanting to end the monopoly, the Danish Parliament voted on 30 May 1986, to create TV2, as a second choice for public service television.
