Ajavasnan Matsya
''Ajavasnan Matsya'' ( gu, અજવાસનાં મત્સ્ય) is the first collection of poems by Pravin Pandya in Gujarati. It was published by Kavilok Trust in May 1994. Content The book consists of 19 poems, composed in both metrical and nonmetrical form. Pandya wrote the poems during 1979 to 1992. Pravin Pandya
Pravin Pandya (born 16 February 1957, Gujarati: પ્રવીણ પંડ્યા) is a Gujarati language poet, writer, playwright and dramatist from Gujarat, India. His significant works include '' Ajavasnan Matsya'' (1994), ''India Lodge'' (2003), ''Hathiraja Ane Bija Natako'' (2004) and '' Barda Na Dungar'' (2009). He is noted in Gujarati literature for his theatre activism and his dramatized adaptations of Hindi poet Shamser Bahadur Singh's works. He won Uma-Snehrashmi Prize (2008–09) for his book '' Barda Na Dungar''. Early life Pandya was born in Dhrangadhra, Surendranagar district, Gujarat to Jagjivandas and Mangalabahen. He completed his schooling from K. M. Boys High School, Dhrangadhra. He got his Bachelor of Arts (Dramatics) from Gujarat University in 1989. He completed Diploma in Journalism in 1991. Free Verse
Free verse is an open form of poetry, which in its modern form arose through the French '' vers libre'' form. It does not use consistent meter patterns, rhyme, or any musical pattern. It thus tends to follow the rhythm of natural speech. Definition Free verse does not "proceed by a strict set of rules … is not a literary type, and does not conform to a formal structure." Gujarati Sahitya Parishad
Gujarati Sahitya Parishad () is a literary organisation for the promotion of Gujarati literature located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. It was founded by Ranjitram Mehta with the aim of creating literature appealing to all classes of society and cultivating a literary sense among the people. Many prominent people including Mahatma Gandhi and Kanaiyalal Munshi have presided over the organisation. Its headquarters, located on Ashram Road, is known as Govardhan Bhavan. It has a conference hall and library. ''Parab'' is the monthly magazine of the Gujarati Sahitya Parishad and is published on the 10th of every month.
