6th IIFA Awards
The 2005 IIFA Awards, officially known as the 6th International Indian Film Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the International Indian Film Academy honoured the best films of 2004 and took place between 9–11 June 2005. The weekend began with the IIFA Inaugural Press Conference at which IIFA Brand Ambassador, actor Amitabh Bachchan, officially launched the three-day extravaganza. The 50th Filmfare Awards, honoring Cinema of India, took place on 26 February 2005 in Mumbai. The Filmfare Best Villain Award was given by ''Filmfare'' as part of its annual Filmfare Awards for Hindi films, to recognise an actor who had delivered an outstanding performance in a negative role.
