Airplay (album)
''Airplay'' is the debut and only studio album by American band Airplay. The project was created by David Foster and Jay Graydon in 1979 after working on many sessions together starting in the mid 1970s. They started writing songs that would inevitably end up on the album as early as 1978, such as " After the Love Has Gone", which was recorded by Earth, Wind & Fire that same year (the original title for the track was "After the Love Is Gone", which is the title they used on this album). Background In a 2005 interview, David Foster recalls: "We started working together. I think it's actually Jay's idea to do an album. Back in the '70s, we were both studio musicians. And Jay figured out before I did that we can be more than just studio musicians. So it was his idea that we should do an album together. And that was even before we had a singer. Airplay was a short-lived American band, formed by David Foster and Jay Graydon. The band released a self-titled album in 1980, containing "Nothin' You Can Do About It" (originally recorded by The Manhattan Transfer) and the original recording of the Earth, Wind & Fire hit " After the Love Has Gone", written by Foster and Graydon with Bill Champlin. Tom Kelly (musician)
Thomas F. Kelly (born April 16, 1952) is an American musician, best known for his songwriting partnership with Billy Steinberg. Steinberg and Kelly co-wrote numerous hit songs for popular music artists, including five number-one singles on the ''Billboard'' Top 100 chart in the 1980s. Early life Originally from Indiana, Kelly lived in Effingham, Illinois from 1963 to 1966, before moving back to West Lafayette, Indiana where he graduated from West Lafayette High School in 1967. Kelly attended Eastern Illinois University, Southern Illinois University Carbondale, and Purdue University, but dropped out of college to pursue his music career. He played bass guitar and sang in several bands throughout Illinois and Indiana in the late 1960s and early 1970s, including the Trifaris, the Gaping Huggers, the One Eyed Jacks, and the Guild. Bernie Grundman is an American audio engineer. He is most known for his mastering work and his studio, Bernie Grundman Mastering, which he opened in 1984 in Hollywood. The studio, which includes engineers Chris Bellman, Patricia Sullivan, and Mike Bozzi, mastered 37 projects which received Grammy Award nominations in 2005. In 1997 he opened a studio in Tokyo. David Hungate
William David Hungate (born August 5, 1948) is an American bass guitarist noted as a member of the Los Angeles pop-rock band Toto from 1976 to 1982 and again from 2014 to 2015, and the son of judge William L. Hungate. Along with most of his Toto bandmates, Hungate did sessions on a number of hit albums of the 1970s, including Boz Scaggs's ''Silk Degrees'' and Alice Cooper's '' From the Inside''. Career Hungate played on Toto's first four records, including the Grammy award-winning album '' Toto IV''. He left the band shortly after its release for a career as a session musician in Nashville.
