Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry
Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry ( Urdu: أحمد شریف چودہری ) is a two-star General in the Pakistan Army. He is currently serving as the 22nd Director General of ISPR since 06 December 2022. He comes from Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (EME) corps. Family His father Sultan Bashiruddin Mahmood is a nuclear scientist known for his role in the nuclear program of Pakistan while his brother Asim Mehmood is a doctor. Sultan Bashiruddin Mahmood
Sultan Bashiruddin Mahmood ( ur, سلطان بشیر الدین محمود; b. 1940;, ) is a Pakistani nuclear engineer and a scholar of Islamic studies. He was the subject of a criminal investigation launched by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) over unauthorized travel in Afghanistan prior to the September 11 attacks in 2001. Having spent a distinguished career in the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC), he founded the Ummah Tameer-e-Nau (UTN) in 1999– a right-wing organization that was banned and sanctioned by the United States in 2001. Mahmood was among those who were listed and sanctioned by the Al-Qaida Sanctions Committee in December 2001. Having been cleared by the FIA, he has been living in anonymity in Islamabad, authoring books on the relationship between Islam and science. Major General
Major general (abbreviated MG, maj. gen. and similar) is a military rank used in many countries. It is derived from the older rank of sergeant major general. The disappearance of the "sergeant" in the title explains the apparent confusion of a lieutenant general outranking a major general, whereas a major outranks a lieutenant. DG ISPR
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) ( ur, ), is the media and PR wing of the Pakistan Armed Forces. It broadcasts and coordinates military news and information to the country's civilian media and the civic society. The ISPR directorate serves the purpose of aiming to strengthen public relations with the civic society, and civil society through interacting with the media. The Defence Science & Technology Organisation ( ur, ) is a multi-disciplinary agency under the Ministry of Defence Production of Pakistan, dedicated for evaluation of science and technology for use by the military. Its Director-General is a serving two-star general officer of the Pakistan Army, and is located at Chaklala cantonment. However, as an inter-services organisation it is overseen by the Joint Services Headquarters, and works closely with the Strategic Plans Division (SPD). Babar Iftikhar
Lieutenant General Babar Iftikhar () is a three-star rank general in the Pakistani Army. He was the former 21st director general of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) from 16 January 2020 to 6 December 2022. He was commissioned in the Pakistan Army in 1990. He is the current commander of V Corps of the Pakistan Army which has its headquarters in Karachi. Education Babar Iftikhar attended the Army Burn Hall College in Abbottabad.
