Aguinaldo, Ifugao
Aguinaldo, officially the Municipality of Aguinaldo, is a municipality in the province of Ifugao, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 21,128 people. Etymology The town was named Aguinaldo in honor of Emilio Aguinaldo, the first President of the Philippines, who is believed to have passed through the area during the Philippine–American War. Before its creation in 1980, the area was known as Bunhian, then a part of the municipality of Mayoyao. History The Municipality of Aguinaldo was officially created through Batas Pambansa Bilang 86, which was approved on September 20, 1980. The law separated several barangays—Bunhian, Damag, Galonogon, Itab, Jacmal, Ta-ang, Talete, and Ubao—from the Municipality of Mayoyao in the province of Ifugao. The Philippine–American War, known alternatively as the Philippine Insurrection, Filipino–American War, or Tagalog Insurgency, emerged following the conclusion of the Spanish–American War in December 1898 when the United States annexed the Philippine Islands under the Treaty of Paris (1898), Treaty of Paris. Ifugao
Ifugao, officially the Province of Ifugao (; ), is a landlocked province of the Philippines in the Cordillera Administrative Region in Luzon. Its capital is Lagawe and it borders Benguet to the west, Mountain Province to the north, Isabela to the east, and Nueva Vizcaya to the south. The Rice Terraces of the Philippine Cordilleras and Banaue Rice Terraces are the main tourist attractions in the province. These terraces are believed to have been hand-carved into the mountains 2,000 years ago to plant rice. However, recent research by carbon dating suggests that they were built much later.
