Agrimonia (band)
Agrimonia is a heavy metal band from Sweden. Formed in 2005, the band released its self-titled demo in 2008 before releasing its first full-length, ''Host of the Winged'', in 2010. Their second full-length album, ''Rites of Separation'', was released in 2013. Major music websites such as Pitchfork have lauded the band's unique style and given it strong reviews, including an 8.0/10 for their second full-length album. Crust Punk
Crust punk (also known as stenchcore or simply crust) is a fusion genre of anarcho-punk and extreme metal that originated in the early to mid-1980s in England. Originally, the genre was primarily mid-tempo, making use of metal riffs in a stripped-down anarcho-punk context, however many later bands pushed the genre to be more grandiose, faster or more melodic. Often songs are political, discussing environmentalism, anarchism, anti-capitalism, feminism and animal rights. The genre originated in the early to mid-1980s with Amebix and Antisect, bands active in the anarcho-punk scene who began to incorporate the influence of heavy metal bands such as Hellhammer, Motörhead and Trouble. Sludge metal (also known as sludge doom or simply sludge) is an Extreme metal, extreme subgenre of heavy metal music that combines elements of doom metal and hardcore punk. The genre generally includes slow tempos, down-tuned guitars and nihilistic lyrics discussing poverty, drug addiction and pollution. Southern Lord is an American heavy metal record label that was founded in 1998 by Greg Anderson. It initially specialized in experimental metal: particularly doom metal, stoner rock, and drone metal. The label later expanded its line-up to include artists from black metal, hardcore punk and crust punk bands. Martin Larsson (guitarist)
Martin Larsson is a Swedish heavy metal guitarist. He initially played in The House of Usher from 1990 to 1993. After the band split up, he joined At the Gates, and was their guitarist until they broke up in 1996, and again when they reunited in 2007. At the Gates (1993-1996, 2007-present) Guitarist Alf Svensson parted ways with At the Gates during 1993. Members of the group knew Larsson; they had "met him" during concerts, and had played alongside Larsson's group The House of Usher on one or two occasions. According to bandmember Anders Björler, Larsson "felt like a good substitute. When asked what each At the Gates member contributed to the group's overall sound, Björler said that Larsson "didn't write that much music, though he's a great guitarist". Skitsystem (; literally "Shit System") is a Swedish crust punk band formed in early 1994. The band members originally came from different death metal bands, bonding over a common interest in punk music, particularly D-beat.
