Agia, Larissa
Agia () is a village and a municipality in the Larissa (regional unit), Larissa regional unit, Thessaly, Greece. Agia is located east of Larissa and south of Melivoia. The Mavrovouni Ymittou, Mavrovouni mountains dominate the south and the Aegean Sea lies to the east. Municipality The municipality Agia was formed at the 2011 local government reform by the merger of the following 4 former municipalities, that became municipal units: *Agia *Evrymenes, Larissa, Evrymenes *Lakereia *Melivoia The municipality Agia has an area of 661.79 km2, the municipal unit Agia has an area of 189.487 km2, and the community Agia has an area of 27.150 km2. 2007 Greek Forest Fires
The 2007 Greek forest fires were a series of massive wildfire, forest fires that broke out in several areas across Greece throughout the summer of 2007. The most destructive and lethal infernos broke out on 23 August, expanded rapidly and raged out of control until 27 August, until they were finally put out in early September. The fires mainly affected western and southern Peloponnese as well as southern Euboea. The death toll in August alone stood at 67 people. In total 85 people lost their lives because of the fires, including several fire fighters. Some of these firestorms are believed to be the result of arson while others were merely the result of negligence. Provinces Of Greece
The provinces of Greece (, "eparchy") were sub-divisions of some the country's prefectures of Greece, prefectures. Metaxochori (, ) is a village and a community of the Agia municipality. The community of Metaxochori covers an area of 3.024 km2. Geography Metaxochori is located two kilometres to the northwest of Agia, at the foot of Mount Ossa. The village is separated in two parts, with a small stream and a small bridge connecting each other.
