Agapornithinae
Agapornithinae is a subfamily of Parrot, psittacine birds, one of the five subfamilies that make up the family Psittaculidae.Leo Joseph, Alicia Toon, Erin E. Schirtzinger, Timothy F. Wright, Richard Schodde. 2012. A revised nomenclature and classification for family-group taxa of parrots (Psittaciformes)'' ISSN 1175-5326 Zootaxa 3205: 26–40. Its members are small, short-tailed parrots that inhabit Africa and Asia. They usually have predominantly green plumage and present different colorations on the head. Genera The subfamily contains 3 genera: * Genus ''Agapornis'' ** ''Agapornis canus'' – grey-headed lovebird ** ''Agapornis fischeri'' – Fischer's lovebird ** ''Agapornis lilianae'' – Lilian's lovebird ** ''Agapornis nigrigenis'' – black-cheeked lovebird ** ''Agapornis personatus'' – yellow-collared lovebird ** ''Agapornis pullarius'' – red-headed lovebird ** ''Agapornis roseicollis'' – rosy-faced lovebird ** ''Agapornis swindernianus'' – black-collared lovebird ...

Psittaculidae
Psittaculidae is a family of parrots, commonly known as Old World parrots, though this term is a misnomer, as not all its members occur in the Old World and Psittacinae also occurs in the Old World. It consists of six subfamilies: Psittrichasinae, Agapornithinae, Loriinae, Platycercinae, Psittacellinae and Psittaculinae. Taxonomy The following cladogram shows how the family Psittaculidae relates to the three other families in the order Psittaciformes. The tree is based on the work by Leo Joseph and collaborators published in 2012 but with the choice of families and the number of species in each family taken from the list maintained by Frank Gill, Pamela Rasmussen and David Donsker on behalf of the International Ornithological Committee (IOC), now the International Ornithologists' Union. Joseph and collaborators proposed that the genera '' Psittrichas'' and '' Coracopsis '' should be placed in their own family, Psittrichasidae. This proposal has not been adopted by taxon ...

Agapornis
Lovebird is the common name for the genus ''Agapornis'', a small group of parrots in the Old World parrot family Psittaculidae. Of the nine species in the genus, all are native to the African continent, with the grey-headed lovebird being native to the African island of Madagascar. Social and affectionate, the name comes from the parrots' strong, monogamous pair bonding and the long periods which paired birds spend sitting together. Lovebirds live in small flocks and eat fruit, vegetables, grasses, and seeds. Some species are kept as pets, and several coloured mutations have been selectively bred in aviculture. The average lifespan is 10 to 12 years. Description Lovebirds are in length, up to 24 cm in wingspan with 9 cm for a single wing and in weight. They are among the smallest parrots, characterised by a stocky build, a short blunt tail, and a relatively large, sharp beak. Wildtype lovebirds are mostly green with a variety of colours on their upper body, dependin ...

They are classified in four families that contain roughly 410 species in 101 genus (biology), genera, found mostly in tropics, tropical and subtropics, subtropical regions. The four families are the Psittaculidae (Old World parrots), Psittacidae (African and New World parrots), Cacatuidae (cockatoos), and Strigopidae (New Zealand parrots). One-third of all parrot species are threatened by extinction, with a higher aggregate extinction risk (Red List Index, IUCN Red List Index) than any other comparable bird group. Parrots have a generally pantropical distribution with several species inhabiting temperateness, temperate regions as well. The greatest biodiversity, diversity of parrots is in South America and Australasia. The blue-crowned hanging parrot (''Loriculus galgulus'') is a parrot species endemic to southern Burma and Thailand, Malaya, Singapore, and Indonesia (Sumatra, Java, Borneo). These parrots are in height and weight g and have a longevity of 14 years. They are recognized by their green plumage, black beak and characteristic blue feathers arranged like a crown on their head. Taxonomy The blue-crowned hanging parrot was formally described in 1758 by the Swedish naturalist Carl Linnaeus in the tenth edition of his ''Systema Naturae''. He placed it with all the other parrots in the genus ''Psittacus'' and coined the binomial name ''Psittacus galgulus''. The type locality is the Malaysian state of Malacca. The blue-crowned hanging parrot is now one of 14 hanging parrots placed in the genus '' Loriculus'' that was introduced in 1849 by the English zoologist Edward Blyth. The genus name is a diminutive of the genus ''Lorius'' that was introduced by Nicholas Aylward Vigors for the lory ...

The Sangihe hanging parrot (''Loriculus catamene'') is a small (length: 12–13.5 cm) parrot endemic to the small island of Sangihe, north of Sulawesi, Indonesia. This is an arboreal parrot. It is predominantly green, with a red throat patch, rump, elongated uppertail-coverts and tip of tail. In 2009 this parrot was downlisted from Endangered to Near Threatened because although it has a very small range within which there has been extensive forest loss Deforestation or forest clearance is the removal and destruction of a forest or stand of trees from land that is then land conversion, converted to non-forest use. Loriculus Exilis
The pygmy hanging parrot, red-billed hanging parrot or green hanging parrot (''Loriculus exilis'') is a tiny species of parrot in the family Psittaculidae. It is endemic to forest, mangrove and other wooded habitats on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. It is becoming rare due to habitat loss Habitat destruction (also termed habitat loss or habitat reduction) occurs when a natural habitat is no longer able to support its native species. The organisms once living there have either moved elsewhere, or are dead, leading to a decrease .... The bird is green all over. Its face consists of an orange bill and red throat. The tail is red. It is sometimes with the great hanging parrot. The pygmy hanging parrot is smaller and has a more red bill, green forehead, and uniform green mantle. It includes about 9 subspecies but formerly included the Camiguin hanging parrot and the Black-billed hanging parrot which have seen been recognized as distinct species. While it is listed as Least Concern in IUCN, some subspecies, such as ''L. p. chyrsonotus'' of Cebu and ''L. p. siquijorensis'' of Siquijor, may already be extinct. The species is threatened by habitat loss, but a bigger threat is trapping for the illegal wildlife trade; wild-caught birds are often sold as pets in streets and online selling groups.
