Norma Terris (born Norma Allison Cook; November 13, 1904 – November 15, 1989) was an American performer in musical theatre and vaudeville. Early years Born in Columbus, Kansas, Terris was named after the heroine of Bellini's opera ''Norma''. Her grandmother and grandfather taught in college, and both initially opposed her going into acting. Undeterred, as a child she put on her own productions in a barn and on the family's front porch. A cousin enabled her to study dancing and drama. In December 1920, she and Max Hoffman Jr. applied for a license to marry, but both were underage, so they did not wed then. Career In the early 1920s, Hoffman and Terris debuted an act called "Junior and Terris" in Asbury Park, New Jersey. They went on to tour on the Interstate Circuit. Bob Kames (April 21, 1925 – April 9, 2008) was an American musician who specialized in genres such as polka. Kames is credited with developing and popularizing the modern-day version of the song " Dance Little Bird," which is much better known by its more common name, The Chicken Dance. Kames is a member of the Wisconsin Area Music Industry's Hall of Fame. Kames recorded over seventy albums throughout his career. ''Join Bing & Sing Along'' is a long-playing vinyl album issued first by RCA Victor (LPM/LSP-2276) and immediately thereafter by Warner Bros. Records (W/WS-1363) in 1960. The album consists of twelve medleys of 33 old songs in a singalong format. Bing Crosby sings on all of the tracks except those marked with an asterisk. The chorus and orchestra is conducted by Jack Halloran and their tracks were pre-recorded on November 9 & 13, 1959 with Crosby over-dubbing his vocals. Orchestral arrangements were by Bob Thompson. The album entered the UK album charts on October 8, 1960 and reached a peak position of No. 7 in an 11-week stay. Hallmark Records issued the album on CD in 2011 No. 710082.
