''Afshan'' () is a 1981 Pakistani television series written by Fatima Surayya Bajia, based on the eponymous novel of Amtur Rahman Khatoon (better known as A.R. Khatoon), and directed by Qasim Jalali. Synopsis The story is about a large family in which the elders decide the fate of their children, and the honour of their family is considered paramount above all else, even above their children's happiness. PTV National Awards () was an awards ceremony annually held by the Pakistan Television Corporation. The awards were first introduced in the late 1970s to encourage talented people in Pakistan. History The PTV awards is the largest awards ceremony in the country and is presented by the government of Pakistan's largest media group. The Pakistan Television Corporation established the PTV Awards in 1970 from Karachi Headquarters. The awards were not famous in the start but became popular after the fifth PTV Awards ceremony. Nisar Qadri
Nisar Qadri (1940/1941 – 24 December 2023) was a Pakistani radio, stage, and television actor. He was honoured with the Pride of Performance Award in 2016. Life and career Qadri started his career in 1966 at Radio Pakistan, Rawalpindi. Later, he starred in numerous TV dramas, movies, and radio plays. In the TV play "''Aik Haqeeqat Aik Afsana''", his catchy phrase "''Machis hogi aap ke paas?''" (Would you happen to have a matchbox?) became viral. Qadri suffered from facial palsy during the mid-2010s and was absent from the screen during this time. He died on 24 December 2023, at the age of 82. Syed Kamal Udin Safavi, (5 August 1932 – 13 September 1989) popularly known as Kamal Irani, was a Pakistani film actor who worked in over 244 films in various languages including Urdu, Punjabi, Pashto, and Sindhi. Life and career Irani was born on 5 August 1932, in Hyderabad, British India, and moved to Karachi, Pakistan, with his family after the partition in 1947. Irani started his acting career in the mid-1950s and quickly became one of the most popular actors of Pakistani cinema (Lollywood) during the 1960s and 1970s. He was known for his versatility as an actor and appeared in a variety of roles ranging from romantic leads to villainous characters.
