Afritzer See is a lake of Carinthia, Austria. Geography The lake is situated in the Gegendtal Valley, running from east to west through the Nock Mountains range of the Gurktal Alps. Though the named after the settlement of Afritz on the eastern shore, the water is located within the municipal area of neighbouring Feld am See. A drainage divide separates it from the neighbouring Brennsee lake. Several brooks flow into Afritzer See, it empties via Afritzer Bach into the Drava river near Villach. Carinthia (german: Kärnten ; sl, Koroška ) is the southernmost Austrian state, in the Eastern Alps, and is noted for its mountains and lakes. The main language is German. Afritz am See ( sl, Zobrce) is a municipality in Villach-Land District in the Austrian state of Carinthia. Name The name ''Afritz'' is ultimately derived from the Slovene prepositional phrase ''za brdce'' 'behind the small hill'. The Slovene phrase fused to yield *''Zabrdce'', which was borrowed into Middle High German as *''Zafriz'' (from which, in turn, ''Cobrc'' was borrowed back into Slovene). Nock Mountains
The Nock Mountains (german: Nockberge or ''Nockgebirge'') are the westernmost and highest mountain range of the Gurktal Alps in Austria, spread over parts of the federal states of Carinthia, Salzburg and Styria. Their appearance is characterised by numerous dome-like and grass-covered summits (''Nocken''). Their highest peak is the Eisenhut in Styria which reaches an elevation of AA. In July 2012 the Nock Mountains and the adjacent Lungau region were designated a biosphere reserve by UNESCO. They were largely unglaciated in the Ice Age and were a glacial refugium. Gurktal Alps
The Gurktal Alps (german: Gurktaler Alpen, sl, Krške Alpe) is a mountain range located in the Central Eastern Alps in Austria, named after the valley of the Gurk river. The range stretches west to Lake Millstatt and east to Neumarkter Sattel (north-northwest of Neumarkt in der Steiermark). The highest peak is the Styrian Eisenhut (2441m). Geography Location The range is located between the Mur Valley in the north, separating it from the Niedere Tauern, and the Drava in the south, where it borders on the Gailtal Alps and Karavanke ranges of the Southern Limestone Alps. Brennsee
Brennsee, also called Feldsee, is a lake in Carinthia, Austria. Geography It is situated at 739 metres above the Adriatic (2,425 ft), in the Gegendtal Valley, running from east to west through the Gurktal Alps (Nock Mountains) range. The shaded steep slopes of the Mirnock massif in the south are covered with forests, while the northern shore is settled with Alpine pastures and farmsteads. Villach

A bathing lake is a natural or artificial lake that is used for public bathing and swimming.
